The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II , on Wednesday called on elected leaders to have fear of God in the discharge of their duties.
Sanusi made the call on Wednesday when he led members of the Kano Emirate Council on a courtesy visit to Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso.
He said democratic governance would only be possible when elected leaders and those who found themselves in position of authority, ensured fairness among the citizens irespective of their ethnic or religious backgrounds.
The Emir congratulated Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso over his recent election as Senator representing Kano Central zone.
He urged Kwankwaso to be upright as a leader and regard his victory as an act of God who gives power to whoever he wished.
Sanusi also congratulated Nigerians on the peaceful and orderly conduct of the last general elections .
