The Christain Association of Nigeria, Kwara State chapter, has said it is not against any political party in the state.
It also said it is not supporting any governorship candidate.
In a statement in Ilorin on Tuesday, it also said its seminar of March 6 was never to get involved in politics.
The statement was signed by the state CAN chairman, Prof. Timothy Opoola, and Secretary, Revd Reuben Ibitoye.
It called on christains to remain calm and continue to remain peace-loving.
It described a false reports that CAN was planning to cause religious crisis in the state.
The Christian body added, “It is alleged that Kwara CAN is against a political party and its standard bearer and that Christians want to initiate religious conflicts in the state. While Kwara CAN has pending issues with the state government, the seminar was not organised as a result of such issues.
“Our intention, by organising the seminar, was never to get involved in politics. ReplyDeleteThe crop of pastors we have these days can make a feeble minded christian stop going to church, look at this oritsejefor man, is there anything Christlike in his body? I used to have a Bishop in Enugu, late Bishop Otubelu, when you look at him, you feel a connection to God, his aura and persona are so Christ like but these days, bishops look so commercialized/politicized and nothing in them speaks of the Man they claim they are servants of. God will judge all of you. They have taken money and instructed their reverends in churches to campaign against Buhari. It happened in my church , our priest got up to give notices and started campaining for jonathan in church, in the middle of service. they have desecrated the body of Christ, ofcourse i raised my voice and shouted this is not why we are here, well God is merciful and long suffering because if not, thunder and lightening would have struck a lot of people by now.

Bcos they see the picture of Oriteajafor in this news they started accusing him, thinking he's the one making the statement whereas it was stated clearly that the statement is frm CAN Kwara state chapter with the name of the people that signed the statement clearly stated. Oritsejafors picture was used their as Nigerians CAN President you illiterates. Stop accusing an innocent man.
