VIDEO: I will surely win the 2015 Elections - Jonathan boasts during BBC interview

In this recent BBC interview, President Jonathan boasted that he would win this weekend’s presidential election.

With the presidential elections scheduled to take place in 6 days, Mr. Jonathan told the BBC in an interview that he has nothing to worry about, as his ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, remains the strongest party in Nigeria despite the seeming nationwide support for the opposition All Progressives Congress.

“I will surely win it… My party is still the strongest party”, the president said.

However President Goodluck Jonathan also made an admission that he is not in charge of the military and he could not speak for them.

His admission of powerlessness followed the interviewer’s barrage of questions on what the government used the yearly $5 billion security budget for, the whereabouts of the kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls and why it took so long for Nigeria, the ‘giant of Africa’, to embark on retaking territories lost to Boko Haram.

President Jonathan did not have any convincing explanation, except to say: I am not in charge.

  2. If I understand GEJ response to previous security allocation... he cannot confirm it has been judiciously used? that is not a good one if you continue to allocate money to a section that you don't have a mechanism of making them accountable or checking the record of their spending. Then, you just reconfirm the sayings that you're not in charge.

  3. Hmmm I feel like running away for my life from this GEJ. I must vote this next election. The guy depends on PDP to win. He doesn't even care about the people but the party. Ok let PDP vote for him. He should have said that weapons are not like his ogogoro and not pack of cigarettes. He squandered security money and is now claiming to be looking for weapons for six years. Fr Mbaka was right. GEJ is not the good luck for this great nation. Only sycophants and ignorant people will vote for this disgrace to PHD degree holder. He said that he was not in charge. Any fool will know the meaning of C in C. The brilliant interviewer caught him off guard several times and he couldn't recite his memory verses properly. However, like a tomboy he puts his chest out to recite his 'I will win' memory verse. Olodo! We knew he was lying. GEJ is afraid. He doesn't have confidence. He did not remember to talk about painting of airport, railway, fertilizer, sure p, etc. He ruined the opportunity to sell himself to us again at a crucial time. He placed his victory in the mercenary of pdp supporters when asked why he felt he would win. He did not even fake to say the people still like him. Chei! There is God o. Nigerians shine your eyes. This man knows he is not liked but still believes he will win. How will he....?

  5. 4:48 - 5:00 mins shows that he had lost touch of reality. How can he say "... there is no polling unit where you wont see party member"? Is it the party members that vote or the citizens that vote? What percentage of citizens are party members? People just want good governance, no one is interested in PDP or APC. He clearly lost because he was lost. Anyways, it's all in the past now.
