Two weeks after a kidnapped Chinese man, Chui Fu Long, was released by his captors, a Syrian, Mah Faith Nagor, has been kidnapped by gunmen at a construction site in Toto Local Government Area, Nasarawa.
This was disclosed by the police in Nasarawa State.
Mr. Nagor works with a construction company in Azara area of Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The state police spokesperson, Ismaila Numan, said that security agencies including the military have commenced a search and rescue operation to ensure the release of the Syrian.
Mr. Numan explained that officers of the command will ensure that the culprits are apprehended and the expatriate released as soon as possible.
He appealed to members of the public to avail the police of any information that would lead to the immediate release of the kidnapped man.
It was gathered that gunmen invaded the Rim construction site and started shooting sporadically in the air to scare away people before kidnapping the expatriate.
Some members of the public have raised concerns over the spate of kidnapping on construction sites across the state. They urged the security agencies to look inward, saying it might be an insider work to exploit the construction companies.
