President Jonathan set to host Flying Eagles in Aso Rock

President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday congratulated the Flying Eagles of Nigeria on their Sunday’s victory over Senegal in the final of the 2015 African Youth Championship.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the President said he looked forward to receiving the team at his earliest convenience on their return to the country with the aim of honouring them for bringing more sporting glory to their fatherland.

Jonathan also promised the Flying Eagles that they would have the full backing of the Federal Government for their participation in the 2015 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

This, he explained, was in line with his administration’s policy of giving Nigeria’s sportsmen and women the greatest possible support and encouragement.

The statement read, “President Jonathan joins other soccer-loving Nigerians in applauding the Flying Eagles’ glorious triumph over their Senegalese opponents who, as tournament hosts, played in the finals with the vociferous backing of a partisan home crowd.

“The President assures the team that all Nigerians are very proud of their magnificent, all-conquering performance in the tournament, which has earned the country a record seventh African Youth Championship success.

“In keeping with his administration’s policy of giving Nigeria’s sports men and women the greatest possible support and encouragement, which has resulted in the country’s recent successes in international competitions, President Jonathan promises the Flying Eagles that they will have the full backing of the Federal Government for their coming participation in the 2015 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

“The President looks forward to receiving the team at his earliest convenience on their return from Senegal to honour them for bringing more sporting glory to their fatherland.”

  1. If Jona likes, let him host Jesus Christ, he will not win, because of the evil and black mind he has. God don't like ugly!

  2. He should continue! There's too much to go round and over again. Those flying eagles that lost their bearing, a long time ago.
