Usman stated that international routes from Nigeria to Cameroun, Chad and Central African Republic had been secured with the liberation of the two local government areas and the presence of the Chadian forces in Dikwa.

He explained that the military’s successes had enhanced the security situation in the areas with bold indications of the high possibility of restoration of the international trade and socio-economic activities along the corridor.

Meanwhile, investigations into the activities of the Boko Haram in territories briefly occupied by the insurgents have given insight into why some of the natives decided not to flee the areas.
