The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj, General Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), has said the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan must respect the wishes of Nigerians for credible polls.
Buhari said this while addressing Eze Ndigbo of the 19 northern states and Abuja at his campaign office, in Abuja, on Friday.
The APC candidate said he had realised the fact that multi-party democracy remained the best form of government since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
According to him, ordinary folks did not leave him alone to enjoy his exit from power after he was released from detention even when they knew he was not rich.
Buhari said, “I was sitting at home after leaving detention; I thought people will leave me alone because they know I am not rich. I don’t even own a filling station not to talk of oil blocks.
“So, I thought I lost their sympathy but people kept on coming to me; there was nothing I could do. And then I speculated that maybe if I join partisan politics, I will get into a position to be heard.”
He, however, said democracy, as the best form of government, will only make meaningful impact when the government respects the rights of citizens to elect those who govern them.
The APC candidate added that there was an element of rebellion in every human being, making it imperative for a credible process to be put in place to allow people exercise their franchise.
This, he believed, would guarantee peace.
Buhari said, “Let the government respect Nigerians as individuals, allow them to choose those they want to represent them and to lead them and Nigerians will be surprised to see how peaceful this country is going to be.
“I think in a part of every human being, there is an element of rebellion. If you try to force a human being to do what he doesn’t like, he will develop a way of resisting it but if you develop a system, you persuade him to accept the system, then justice must be done and you will be surprised house peacefully you will live; but if you try to force it, I am afraid, you will keep on suffering.”
He said the last 16 years of Peoples Democratic Party rule had been a disaster as public institutions had virtually collapsed with the business community the worst hit in recent times.
The APC candidate added, “Where were we 16 years ago when PDP took over this country? And where are we now? How much was the Naira then and how much is it now? The Naira now is about N230 to 1 US dollar and I think as a community, you are hit the most in Nigeria than anybody else.
“You are those that go out from Singapore to China, all over the world. You order things, you don’t order them in Naira; you order them in Dollars or pounds sterling or yen. Now you need trailers of Naira to maintain your business.” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Dolar is control by the Malams so if you want the price of dolar to come down please go and talk to your brothers or go streight to their Vespa motorcycles . Leave our president alone. I cannot see APC winning the Presidential election because there are many thieves in the party who retired from PDP and APC parties .
ReplyDeleteWhy must you Publicly display your ignorance like this ehn? this your tribalism is really eating you o. How can you say Malams control dollar?
DeleteLeave d illetrate alone...I dnt blame him,its becuz he has a fone, dats y he can just pick it up n type rubbish..
DeleteDid I hear this wicked soul say that "Nigerians should be respected as individuals"! Really! Now you've woken up! You now realise that nigerians are human beings! When you were saying that nigerians are "foolish" people in front of international media cameras in 1984 it never occurred to you that does "foolish" people will still be alive till this day and you'd want to seek their help! My friend take several seats. You're a big fool! Your heartless wicked man! Nepotism is all you know! Now you remember that their are Igbo in the north! You're gonna lose. This is your last outing.
ReplyDeleteYou are the real fool. Look at ur comment, even my 5 year old son will not reason like u. U said because he called Nigerians foolish in 1984? And u want to judge him if indeed he called Nigerians foolish. And to u that's the issue worrying u? U are even proving him right by displaying ur own foolishness if he did say so. Civil servants haven't been paid, teachers, no light, infrastructure comatose. Nigeria is one big ghetto country and all u can see is that he said Nigerians are foolish? Incredible.
DeleteU ve only one pvc...period...dats if u evn have @ all sef..
DeleteMaksum Mohammed: I am very sorry to say this. Your attack on this particular person is wrong. I live in Abeokuta and civil servant have not being paid because the governor Ibikunle Amosun used the fund of his workers cooperative for state project. The warning strike is over. We are expecting a second wave of strike. These stike is caused by an APC governor and not GEJ, So if you are giving any excuse give a clean one. Power problem actually depends on your location. If you are truely informed and well educated you will know and appreciate the sweat that have gone into this power project and you will be informed how enemies of GEJ are sabotaging his effort. (Probably the Opposition party at some point in time). You are actually the only getto and foolish person here
DeleteAnywhere you find Nigeria, Buhari, Buhari, Buhari that is where you kept us. Those who support you are almajiris who feed from alhajis and teenagers born after 1983. Those who know your history know you are a monster.
ReplyDeleteCan you see yourself. What do you know about economy of a country. Dollar issue is ageneral problem... Many countries are experiencing fall and raise of their currency now. Do not use it for campaign.
ReplyDeletebuhari who's wishes are you talking abt.my wish is Goodluck jonathan ok.not a buhari that cannot prove his qualification.
ReplyDeleteOn Gej i stand, anything short of that is totally not acceptable.
ReplyDeleteIf not the pple are angry with Jona, Buhari I would ve been 200% sure that you will soon cry again, old man that doesn't want to go and rest.
ReplyDeleteBuhari, so you suddenly woke up and remembered that Jonathan should respect the wishes of they people. The same thing applies to you. The wishes of the people is that you will lose this election next week. Kindly accept defeat and to back to your state.
ReplyDeleteLook who's talking! Have you forgotten when you disregarded the voice of Nigerians in 1983, and overthrew a duly elected government? Did you forget she you disregarded the respect for peoples culture and tradition and arrested His royal majesty the Ooni of Ife and intruded into and ransacked the home of the much revered Yoruba idol & indeed a national idol in the person of Awolowo? Aw,what short memory the yourbss have that they are now pointing to their father's house with their left hand. I'm sure you know what that implies? How can you expect us you're not tribalistic today, when you put an elite vice President in jail, because he was from a region you so much dispice, while your northern brother President was kept in all comfort? Sorry for the Easterners who support you today.
ReplyDeleteAnyway,in a matter of days,God's plan for Nigeria will be unveiled.
Supposing the wishes of Nigerians is that you Buhari will never rule Nigeria again would you accept it or would you organize a second massacre in other to make the country ungovernable? Sorry Mr. Buhari, you are not the answer for Nigerians. Only a foolish Nigeria will waste their PVC voting for you. GEJ is definitely not an angel but he is by far better than you.
ReplyDeleteGood talk brother! He also needs to tell us why has so desperately fought to become the President. There's something very important to him and his supporters that hebwants to go and take in Aso Rock.
