Femi Fani-Kayode begs Igbos to vote for Jonathan

The Director, Media and Publicity of PDP Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode yesterday begged the Ndigbo to vote President Goodluck Jonathan for the March 28 election, saying he has the Ndigbo at heart.

Fani-Kayode spoke in Umuahia Sunday when he and his team cisted the state as part of their tour of the states in the zones of the country.

According to him, no other leader in Nigeria has done to Ndigbo what President has so far done to them.

“His unflagging love for the South-East zone has crystallized in a high number of Igbo sons and daughters serving in the present Federal Cabinet. President Jonathan’s government, as you know, was the first to appoint an Igbo military officer as the Chief of Army staff. Records have shown that it is only the government of President Jonathan that re-constructed the Enugu International Airport while also remodeling the Imo Airport.

“Indeed, the conversion of the Enugu Airport to an International Airport is considered critical to the economic survival of the people of the Southeast. We are happy to list the ability of people from south-east to tap from the You-Win initiative of the Jonathan’s government for economic benefits.

“The government holds the credit for constructing the Enugu-Port Harcourt dual carriage way as well as the rehabilitation of the Enugu-Port Harcourt rail-line. We will not forget to mention the construction of the second Niger Bridge which was started by President Jonathan.

The south-east states have also benefited from the progress recorded by the education sector under the government of President Jonathan with federal universities built in Ebonyi, Abia, Imo and Enugu states”, Fani-Kayode said.

He also attacked the Imo State Governor over his claim that Buhari would win the presidential election, hence the need for Ndigbo to vote for him.

“Let me seize this opportunity to dispel the shameful deceit and propaganda of the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha. He has said that the Igbo people should not waste their votes by investing them in our Presidential candidate on the basis that the rest of Nigeria will vote for Buhari. This is a lie from the pit of hell.

“Okorocha knows very well that all parts of Nigeria are rooting for President Jonathan, including the north where General Buhari hails from. We trust that you will never be cowed by the APC’s cheap propaganda and false claims”he said.

  1. Is this the same Kayode who was insulting Igbo women, claiming that he sleeps with all of them including Ojukwu's wife. They should have stoned him at Umuahia. Igbo youths have been neglected under Jonathan than any other time. I'm Igbo but will never vote PDP, the party of thiefry and ultimate corruption.

  5. This is cheap propaganda as Igbo states have not felt better than other states in Nigeria. As an Igbo man I will not vote for Jonathan because that will mean circle of corruption and under development. I believe time has come for us to try something different from PDP.

  7. This election is concluded. The number one Ibo hater is the one appealing to the Ibos to vote for Jonathan since he has no place to go. How I wish election could be conducted every year. These touts that are running this nation had suddenly discovered that it's no longer business as usual. With the card reader, we now have the power to determine who will rule us and never again will these set of good for nothing tugs be in charge.

  8. Femi, so Jonathan has done a lot for Igbo slaves right ?And not for nigeria citizens. One nigeria indeed. But I pity ndigbo who can no longer reason properly anymore and sees the handwriting on the wall.

  9. No amount of begging will change our decision to vote according to our conscience. We need a govt that can secure our lives and provide conducive environment for us to do business in the east. We Igbos are everywhere because our states are not developed. It is is the neglect of our states and people by the federal govt. that caused most Igbos to relocate to Lagos for business. So, we can't see the things this man is talking about.

  11. I am sure all these people commenting are not Ibos otherwise they will not be saying these rubbish. FFK I tell you you don't have to beg the Ibos because they will vote for GEJ 100% don't mind these ideal Internet commentators , Who will the Ibos vote for ? Buhari that said that he knew why Ibos don't like him, that it was because of his part during the civil war, that he does not have any regreats that if the war happens again that he will repeat the same thing and killl more Ibos ,or is it APC that deported Ibos out of Lagos.

    2. This is my personal opinion, Igbos all over Nigeria ordinarily would have rallied behind GEJ and not Buhari. GEJ has disappointed the Igbos, do not mind all these inflated talks about political appointments in GEJ's government and his performances in the last 4 years. Let the truth be known. If Igbos support GEJ this 2015 and he wins, what happens to the Igbos in 2019? Will GEJ create the platform to usher in an Igbo presidency in 2019? Going by antecedents i do not think he can deliver, therefore no reasonable Igbo should vote in this election. This is a clarion call to all Igbos, in the spirit in oneness.

    3. The Igbo are known for being independent minded people. They sure know who to vote for in the coming election.
As ffk forgotten so soon what he said about the Igbo women and the Igbos in general not too long ago? To hell with you ffk and your corrupt GEJ government.

  12. many of those writing and claiming to be igbos, i'm sure they aren't. Those sayin alot of the bads PDP or GEJ has done to the igbos should weigh what Buhari and ACN or APC has done to the igbos also and compare. Buhari has alwys been an enemy to the igbos and he said in his interveiw that if war comes again dat he will wash the dirty blood of the igbos off nigeria.
