Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has asked the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party’s presidential candidate, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd) to apologize to Nigerians for dishing out naked lies on daily basis on issues that are very fundamental to the corporate existence of the country.
While questioning the moral right the party and its presidential candidate,Gen Buhari had to contest March 28 presidential election, Fayose said in a sane clime, that APC and Gen Buhari could have withdrawn from the race.
According to a press statement issued in Ado-Ekiti, Monday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor noted with dismay the contemptuous manner in which the APC and Gen Buhari hold Nigeria and its people.
Fayose who reeled out many instances where APC had openly lied to Nigerians on matters that are very important for the peace and progress of the country “In saner climes, you can’t lie and be discovered to have lied repeatedly as done by the APC and still want to stand for elections.”
“The new deceit from the APC is to use a photoshoped picture of Buhari for posters in Lagos, making him look like a 50 year old
man, whereas he is as old as my mother and cannot survive the rigoursof office even as a governor not to talk of President of Nigeria.”
The noted that it was appalling that despite being found to have liedon several occasions, the APC has never deemed it necessary to apologise to Nigerians for trying to deceive them.
His words; “First, the APC Vice Presidential candidate, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, a supposed pastor posted picture of Reinhard Bonke crusade on his Twitter Handle, claiming that the picture was that of APC campaign rally in Kano.
“Second, the APC claimed that Buhari made a surprise visit to Chibok and went further to lie that the people and parents of Chibok girls were filled with hope and joy upon sighting Buhari and his entourage, and escorted him into Chibok with singing and dancing.
“Third, the APC cabal claimed that Buhari travelled to the United Kingdom on a working visit and used fake pictures to back up their lies that Buhari met with ex-British Prime minister, Tony Blair and had a television interview in London.
“Even when Buhari’s wife admitted that her husband was in the UK to rest, the APC cabal went on with their lies, using pictures taken in Transcorp Hilton, Abuja as proof of Buhari’s activities in London.
“If a party and its candidate could lie so brazenly as done by the APC and Buhari, do they still have moral rights to want to rule Nigeria?

ReplyDeleteI am not surprised abt any unintelligent outburst of Ayodele Peter Fayose. I have met him during his first episode as governor of the so called fountain of wisdom people. My 30 minutes meeting with was a clear demonstration of ignorance, I still wonder what the Fountain of Knowledge people saw to have voted for him. Very soon, he will be ejected out of Ekiti state governor's office. The guy is clearly on drug.

Jonathan will loose the election but will not want to go. He will be Gbagbolized from office by the masses, Buhari will surely come in as president commander-in-chief and you will be the first victim for your atrocities. Learn to respect somebody of your mother's age (if at all you have respect for your mother) for you to live long. Remember the Benue state commissioner who died last week after boasting that Buhari is quarter to grave.

Day-by-day or simply put, each day that passes by your tenure is going. It will be better for you to stop this media war that you cannot win and do the needful in your state so that the people -Ekitis will not curse you at the expiration of your term. Secondly, if GEJ should lose in this election, how do you want to save your face? Are you planning to vacate the seat and go into exile before the end of your tenure. A word is enough for a wise! Fayose, get down to the business of governance and be responsible as a governor. Verbal war/attacks in the media is not the best way to move this country forward. If you have anything against Buhari, challenge him in the court. Use Gani Fawehinmi's approach instead of those acidulous words that are not suppose to come from a responsible man not to talk of a governor that everyone sees as number one man in the state.
