Lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress, APC have distanced themselves from the confirmation of Musiliu Obanikoro by the Nigerian senate as the Minister after repeated deferments.
In a report gathered from Sen. Babafemi Ojudu who took to Twitter after the confirmation of Obanikoro, APC lawmakers were said to have responded by walking out of the session in protest.
“We were not part of today’s charade. It was operation confirm Obanikoro at all cost. Same way they are planning to rig in GEJ at all cost.
We APC senators walked out when they turn process, precedence and our laws upside down. We addressed the press and stated our position.
They went ahead in spite of 40 of us from the opposition APC to confirm Obanikoro as Minister.
For them it does not matter if he has trampled upon his oath of office and abused hi position as a minister
Coming out of the chambers an Obanikoro supporter attacked Senator Mrs Oluremi Tinubu. PDP senators ignored this even on my alerting them,” He posted. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

This confirmation is the peak of impunity, selfishness, partisanship and a celebration of corruption in our polity. It's shameful.
ReplyDeleteDo you actually know the meaning of impunity?. Tempted to believe you are one of those who jumped into the bandwagon cos some are doing so. Approval was given based on the rules they set for themselves before now.if the thing has turned back to hunt them, they should link their wounds.Obanikoro is a former senator and every sanatorium does not need clearance but just to " bow and go". He just did that. Any aggrieved party should consider reviewing their self inflicted rule that was meant for themselves.
DeleteDavid Mark you are a shame to humanity #bringbackourgirls
ReplyDelete1. The Ekiti gate is still an allegation which has not been proven in a competent court of law, the national assembly is not a court of law to convict anybody.
ReplyDeleteThe senate can still go ahead to clear a candidate even if his senators are opposed to his nomination provided they are not in the same political party with the candidate.
The senate president considers the laws and rules of the senate and not politics.
To all these, Obanikoro has no any reason to be disqualified, he was an ambassador, a minister and a senator of the federal republic.
Congratulation Musliu though I never met you before. I wish you a successful tenure, please use it to demolish the empire of that monster called Tinubu who is daily rubbing lagos blind through his stooge Fashola. Lagos needs to be liberated, it belong to all of us and not Tinubu empire
let apc go and drink ota pia pia.
