2015 ELECTIONS: Jonathan, Buhari arrive Lagos

President Goodluck Jonathan and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj.Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), are presently in Lagos as they both aim to win votes in the nation's commercial capital in Lagos.

It was learnt that Jonathan is attending a conference at the Nigerian Stock Exchange to reassure investors that despite the crash in the stock market, Nigeria would bounce back.

The conference, it was learnt, was necessitated by a report by the international rating agency, Standard & Poor’s, that Nigeria’s economy is in danger and also put Nigeria on negative sovereign ratings watch, BB minus.

Jonathan had earlier in the day visited the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, to solicit the monarch’s support for his re-election.

Meanwhile, it was learnt that Buhari is in Lagos to meet with youths and entertainers at the Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island.

Investigations by our correspondent showed that Lagos is expected to be a battleground between the Peoples Democratic Party and the APC due to its status as the state with the highest number of voters.

  1. Mr. Jonathan suddenly remembers Lagos because he is begging for votes. A good product sells itself and does not require continues launch to gain market acceptability. Please settle the outstanding debt owed Lagos for the provision of infrastructure that we all enjoy. Sir, Lagosians know where their bread is buttered.

  2. That is his style - visits only when canvassing for votes. He did same by visiting Maiduguri, Bauchi etc. canvassing for votes only, while he failed to ever visit there while the people were being killed daily by BH

    2. Vote Buhari and vote for the establishment of Sharia all around Nigeria by its major supporter. The same Buhari criticised the Govt for killing Boko Haram members rather than treating them like the Niger Delta militants.

  10. Lagos, the land of my birth. I now reside in PH. I'm happy we all know the antics of GEJ. He has promoted corruption, nothing to show for his 6 yrs in office. He allowed BH to ruin the lives of people he swore to protect, only for him to rise up because he wants to win election. Please lets be wise and try another President that we are sure of his integrity, sincerity and seriousness to national issues. VOTE GMB. Sai! Baba
