Nigerians have been told not to judge the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari by his attitude or character when he was a military man.
Navy Captain Rasheed Raji, the former military administrator of Bauchi and Sokoto states, disclosed this on Tuesday during an interview with newsmen in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital.
Raji, who is the Baba Adinni of Egbaland, however, expressed optimism about the forthcoming general elections in the country, saying he is sure that the elections will be successful.
According to him, “Buhari is my boss and it is not proper for a junior officer to speak about the senior officers. What I know and can say about Buhari is that he is a complete gentleman and a trustworthy man who no one can fault.
“We should not judge or see him as a military man, but as a Nigerian. He is an extra ordinary person per excellence and if he is the man that would lead us to the promise land, let God take control.
“My submission is that wherever the pendulum will swing to, as a country, we should be prayerful. A lot of things is happening, yet we still have cause to thank God for his mercies and guidance over us as a nation. No matter the tribulations, we will have a peaceful and credible elections,” Raji stated.
Commenting on the recent action of the former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo who ordered that his PDP membership card be shredded, the chairman of the forthcoming Lisabi Day 2015 disclosed that Obasanjo knows better and would have thought of both the pros and cons of his decision before carrying it out.
“It is a personal thing. The former president is a man with wide exposure and experience, he has seen it all. He would have considered so many factors before coming to such conclusion,” he declared.
On Lisabi Day, he said the festival has been fixed for March 9 -15, 2015.
He further disclosed that Egba-born musician turned evangelist, Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi will thrill the crowd. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
