The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation reacted to the departure of former President Olusegun Obasanjo from the party, saying while he is free to leave, he does not have to spit in their faces by publicly tearing the party card.
In a statement by Director of Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, the PDPPCO said, “Watching our party membership card being torn up whilst President Obasanjo was standing there and smiling was painful and tragic.“This is a party which he helped to build and on whose platform he was elected President for eight good years.
“The truth is that President Obasanjo is far better and far bigger than that. Such behavior is provocative and unacceptable.
“He is free to leave the party but does he have to spit in our faces by tearing up our party card in public and before the television cameras?”
The organisation noted that the ex-president’s action indicated that he had left the party for ever.
The statement added, “This knee-jerk reaction is most unlike President Obasanjo and it is very insulting. It is clear that he has burnt all the bridges and that he has left us forever.
“On a personal note, I feel saddened by this but the truth is that many in our party members have heaved a huge sigh of relief. Many of us love President Obasanjo and we shall continue to do so regardless of whether he is in our party or not but tearing up that party card was too much to bear.
“It spoke volumes and it was indicative of the deep hatred and contempt that he has for us and our cause.
“It reminded me of the biblical passage in which King Saul rejected David and then planned to stop him from ascending to the throne by attempting to kill and destroy him.

ReplyDeleteFFK, this is the first time in a long while that you have acted like a true son of Yoruba land. I'm highly impressed. Though the story of Saul and David not is not properly presented, because God rejected Saul before anointing David, just like it is happening here. Jonathan has been rejected he is the one that is playing Saul here.

ReplyDeleteFFK for the first time you will speak truth by using soft words to OBJ. On the issue of Saul and David,God was the one who made Saul a king because he had never dream of becoming king even when Prophet Samuel told him he will be king over Israelites he rejected it. Jonathan was preparing for his second term as governor of Bayelsa State before he was picked as running mate of Yaradue,Jonathan had never dreamed of becoming running mate let alone of becoming president but as a result of God's plan for him he become our president but now he had misbehave and God had rejected him spiritually we are just waiting for its physical manifestation in March 28 presidential ellection.

OBJ is a Cultist and have no fear of GOD, while admolishing the party leaders to calm down the electorate OBJ is busy presenting Old Man madness drama to Nigerians , OBJ Nigerians know u better even when u started to attack Jonathan we vow to return Jonathan having perform for 3 yrs than u OBJ for 12 years. The Third term saga is not yet Over OBJ is trying to come back a leader on interim Govt. that was his plan for Feb 14, 2015 but God intervene that the kingdom of Darkness will not prevail over Nigerians. Remember the pronouncement made by OBJ be/4 the council of state meeting that He will not speak until after election but because the plans for Feb. 14 failed and the resolution of the meeting recently attended by OBJ was his plans to come back to power to head Interim Govt. OBJ is a shame to this country, greed and selfishness is his definition. He ruled for two terms and wanted to go for third term, today he does not want GEJ from Niger Delta to go for 8yrs, tell Nigerians why the Militant will not come back, OBJ has finish ,his time is up, Nigerians should not listen to OBJ old age saga , we have overgrown such saga Nigerians will vote GEJ back to Aso rock come March 28, 2015.
