The Presidency on Saturday said it was aware of a plot by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and some unnamed others within and outside the country to thwart the forthcoming general elections and foist an unconstitutional Interim National Government,which he hopes to head, on the nation.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, said this in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja.
Abati was reacting to an allegation by Obasanjo that President Goodluck Jonathan was planning to plunge the country into crisis if he loses the forthcoming general election.
He said the Presidency found Obasanjo’s allegation odious and repugnant.
He said the former President had repeatedly been impugning on Jonathan’s integrity for the purpose of self-promotion.
The presidential spokesman said it was senseless, irrational and out of place for Obasanjo, who still claims to belong to the same party as the President, to accuse Jonathan of plotting to win the rescheduled presidential elections by “hook or crook” and planning to plunge the nation into crisis if he loses the election.
He said contrary to Obasanjo’s claim, the President would continue to support the Independent National Electoral Commission and other relevant federal agencies to ensure that the rescheduled elections are successfully conducted.
The statement read, “We find the false claims and allegations reportedly made against President Goodluck Jonathan by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday in Abeokuta very odious and repugnant.
“As we have had cause to say before, it is most regrettable indeed that a man like Chief Obasanjo, who should know better, chooses to repeatedly, wantonly, and maliciously impugn the integrity of a sitting President of his country for the primary purpose of self-promotion.
“It is obvious from Chief Obasanjo’s serial vituperations against President Jonathan who is doing his best to positively transform Nigeria for the benefit of all of its people that he has willfully chosen to close his eyes to the present administration’s good works and intentions. For reasons best known to him, Chief Obasanjo has set his mind on regime change by fair or foul means.

Tell it to the gods. This is irrational statement to make, if the constitution did not foresee interim government as stated by minister of justice how possible is it to impose such government on Nigerians. The presidency do not have anything good to say so better keep quite. We are set for change.

He will show his credibility by doing the right things even at this injury time. Alas, he has given room to speculations by taking wrong steps. Meanwhile, no interim government will stand in this country. Handover date is sacrosanct according to Jonathan. So make Reuben shut up and ask his oga for permission before writing nonsense. GEJ secured the PDP 2011 mandate by deception (i.e. 419) in that without being compelled, he declared his intention not to seek for second term and declared with his mouth that his tenure will end May 2015 with BBC UK also carrying the story on 01/02/2011. That means, GEJ committed 419.
I have checked and confirmed via google that this story is still on BBC UK website.
Based on the promise and declaration by GEJ back in 2011, Nigerians voted for him, then suddenly his true 419 color showed. Not only did he underperformed, he also condoned corruption even more than NPN back in the 1979-1983.
Let's face the fact, GEJ belongs to the father of liars. He now leads a propaganda outfit to swindle Nigerians at all cost.
If someone is pathologically deceitful, it will dangerous to rely on any of his words or to ever take the fellow seriously or believe in the fellow in anyway.
Have you heard what he told the world, he said the Ekitigate tape is fabrication, and that is why he will not investigate or probe it. Amazingly deceitful and stupid (please pardon my French language). The simple question then is, how did GEJ determine that the tapes were fabricated in the light of all the evidences and forensic confirmation of the voices coupled with admission on part of some of the individuals involved that indeed they held the secret meeting.
Indeed, a leader may have at his/her disposal the People’s cum Nation's resources to spend (and even squander) all in the name of Projects. However, there are crucial things that a leader on his/her own part must bring to that table/seat of leadership which are namely, righteousness, honesty, integrity, character (must be a man/woman of his/her words either in secret or in the open), hatred for sin, hatred for corruption, hatred for hypocrisy, courage (not an ostrich like leader that will be busy burying head in the sand), empathy, etc.
The Bible in Proverbs 6:16-19 states that;
These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Assessing GEJ on all the aforementioned shows that God can never and will never support and individual like GEJ unless God himself is a liar which can never be so.
GEJ is morally bankrupt, that is a truth that we cannot fight or else we will never be free. Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. It’s only righteousness that will exalt our Nation and I will never accept anything less from any leader voted into power.
I bet my millions on this fact that by the time GEJ is out of power, the new Government will be saddled with huge sums of promissory notes on contracts that have been implemented at ridiculously inflated prices in order for GEJ to try impressing Nigerians within a span of just few months after seeing he has been rejected by us.
GEJ is seriously mounting massive internal debt on Nigerians via hurriedly negotiated contracts at whatever cost in order to fool Nigerians.
GEJ is continuously secretly on a daily basis plunging us into more debt that it will take many generations to repay.
GEJ should have taken the noble part and sponsor someone else as PDP Presidential Candidate rather than wasting millions of precious Naira all in the name of Transformation Agenda Propaganda.
GEJ should have been a man of his words.
If you are a right thinking Nigerian, if you are not primitive, you won't think of voting a dictator, who destroyed Nigerians' democratically elected government, kill Christians, marginalized the Southerners, harass foreigners, caused a lot of shame for Nigerians, looted huge sum of funds from the country and created uncountable number of political blunders as a head of state, he is the number 1 sympathizer of Boko Haram sect, he sees Nigerians as Alamajiris that is why he is promising students free food, instead of talking of good plans for Nigerian future, food is good, but it doesn’t address the problem of the nation, truly, I don't belong to any party and I am not ready to belong to any of these parties, but I see APC as a plot to take Nigerian 100 years back to the dark ages, they make blind argument, the oppose every move by the government, even when they are right, this is a primitive way of politics, they have to learn from other nations how politics are done, our military are fighting a good battle, everybody is happy with the success and praise the military, instead of the APC to join others, they are busy talking one stupid thing that, the president wants to present a fake Shakau to rope in Buhari, please let the APC or Buhari confess, if he (the) know anything about the funding of B/H, he doesn't need to be afraid, in case the military captures the B/H leader, the army has not capture the man yet, why must they start making such comments, are they afraid? When they army was planning to kill the man, they were not lamenting, but now they say they are planning to get him alive, why must they shout? APC, APC, APC, be very careful with your comments, Nigerian people, please be careful and avoiding making a historic mistake this time and Dr. GEJ and PDP wake up and serve your country well, don't look at faces, take the bull by the horn, punish any offender and act truly as a president and commander and chief of the armed forces, we need a leader not a ruler, we need a leader with listening ears, with tolerant mind and not racial, tribalism or fanatic, Nigerians need change, but not from where are now to any bad side, let us think wise
