President Goodluck Jonathan has  lost to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress [APC] Muhammadu Buhari, in a tweet poll organised to test the popularity of presidential candidates.

The poll was organised by one of Mr. Jonathan’s aides, Reno Omokri.

“Who will be more tolerant of criticisms? Retweet to choose GEJ. Favourite for Buhari. Answer honestly with the fear of God! #WhyIwillVoteGEJ”.

“Who will respect the rule of law .Retweet to choose GEJ, Favourite for Buhari. Answer honestly, with the fear of God! #WhyIwillVoteGEJ”.

His first question got 212 Retweets and 2006 Favourites.

The second, got 130 retweets for President Jonathan and 1280 Favourites for Mr. Buhari.

Mr. Omokri stopped the poll after an early lead by the opposition candidate but continued tweeting with his #WhyIwillVoteGEJ hashtag.

    2. There was no presidential debate "last year". And in any case, if Jonathan did not show up for a debate "last year" as you claim, he says he has indicated that he is ready to debate now. Let the change agent come out to a debate to tell Nigerian's how he is going to change things for good. We want to hear from both candidates one - on - one and not press releases from their abusive spokespersons in the persons of FFK/Okupe/Metuh or Lai Mohammed/Shehu Garba. Let's hear both candidates address issues.

  3. ,,, so why the is Buhari running away from the debate, even the one being organised by his favourite TV station Channel. Buhari has nothing to offer NIGERIANS, He is just being packaged by the nation looters and he is already a Prisioner even before the election, imagine what would have happened if he had won. The election has already been decided and Goodluck is the winner. I pity ethnic bigots and haters of Goodluck!

  7. Unfortunately most of the people on Facebook and Twitter are not regular voters because they are too big and full of themselves to go through the hassle of queueing in the sun for they term it unprofitable to qeue for PVC. Their comments hold no water because they will add no value to the voting process. The bad side of running opinion poll based on wrong assumptions is that it gives a false impression to whoever it favours; and when the actual voting process does not agree with the opinion poll, it engenders accusation of rigging. Let nobody be deceived by the crowd turnout at rallies and the results of opinion poll. They may reflect the reality on the ground in USA and Europe, but in Nigeria where voting is in the domain of the under trodden, the actual result is always different.

  9. Pls my brothers and sisters do no be deceived let's not give Buhari false hope because when the chips are dawn and he enventurly losses it will devecitate him and it will make his followers to resort to violence and killing of innocent citizens. You can assess your supporters by how many people that applause you at the campaign ground with the symbol broom and not by the number of watchers who came to watch they are not your members and they will not vote God said Jonathan will win and he will do it by Himself and no gate of hell shall prevail over it be guided

  11. It is laughable for someone to conclude that opinion poll does not matter. It matters now than before and you will be surprised the way Nigerians will vote the incumbent President out of office come Feb. 14th. PDP has explored all avenues to bring APC Presidential candidate down but all were futile. The next game is to get a sycophant to file a case of non-qualification of GMB in court in order to disrupt the election. That has also failed now. Heaven did not fall when GEJ refuse to honour a scheduled debate with Nuhu Ribadu/Fola Adeola; GMB and the likes in 2011. Now that the opposition has gained ground, they wanted to use their "friends in the media" to embarrass GMB. APC got wind of their plan and turned it down. Debate or no debate, most Nigerians want change. For those of you who still want to vote GEJ, please go ahead and stop using Panadol for another person's headache.

  12. In 2011 many of us thought GEJ had all the qualifications that made him win the presidential elections, unfortunately 4 years after plus the previous 2years, we are still chanting the same problems and we have been moved even further from where we should be. Even if GMB does not produce qualifications, in my opinion, that does not stop him from being president. First and foremost he is a Nigerian. Second I believe he has the will power and courage that Many presidents so far lack that is seriously needed to make it uncomfortable for all those looters including those in GMBs party APC. Until we deal with corruption we are moving nowhere, like it or not. He might just be the Messiah we have been waiting for. He may not achieve all he sets out to do but he will pave the way for a new Nigeria. The Nigeria I have been dreaming of but yet to experience. Vote wisely

  13. God forbid , that criminal hack the AIT media and voted four thousand times thye was revealed by the ngt of AIT. Buhari cannot win in Nigeria, we voted him out four conservative times he had expired many years back so no body or group should impose Buhari on Nigeria , the worst is he has no genuine certificate to match with GEJ so why imposing Buhari to us this 21st century -Tufiakwa

  14. GEJ cannot deliver to be honest, we need a credible leader that can really transform Nigeria

  15. Folks I think the so called A.p.c's has a lot of time to always sit online looking for ppl to attack wen ever u say ur honest opinion, must we all vote ur presidential candidate, i believe that if he is the best, we will all knw. This shouldn't be a noise making thing pls and besides what exactly did he (buhari) forgot at dat presidential seat?. What else can he do again or his fans wants us to go from frying pan to hell fire, God forbid .
