Its unjust to compare Jonathan to Laurent Gbagbo – Bode George tells OBJ

Chief Olabode George, a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain on Sunday in Lagos described Saturday’s statement by former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s against President Goodluck Jonathan as unsavoury and unjust.

Obasanjo had in reaction to the postponement of the February 14 polls, alleged that it was done to further the interest of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Chief Olabode George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP condemned the statement while addressing a press conferences in Lagos.
The PDP chieftain expressed dismay over Obasanjo’s verbal attacks on the president.

Bode George, who called for caution, said “it is unsavory and unjust to compare Jonathan to Laurent Gbagbo.

“Baba has served his own term, he has played his roles. I don’t want to conclude that his life would end up like Saul in the Bible.

“I will also want to call on our Obas to talk to Baba that he should remain at that pinnacle of respect because it is becoming too personal. No human being is perfect.”

‎On the postponement of the general elections, George faulted the former president’s position.

“If Baba had attended the Council of state meeting in Abuja, he would have understood why the elections were postponed.”

  3. This same Obasanjo will fight his own self down to the grave, he has gone too personal and honestly because of this unbearable and verbal attack on the president by Obasanjo, Goodluck Jonathan has won my vote, including my family and many more that I have influence over them. Because of the pattern of the attack, is giving me the impression that Obasanjo may have a personal grudge and not the interest of Nigeria and he felt that this is right time to hit.

  4. God is no man. He' ll fight the battle for us. God will open the understanding of all Nigerians. He will shed His light upon every darkness that surrounds us in Nigeria. Obj has certainly gone too far this time around. All this venom against an incumbent president? Yorubas are respectful people. What has happened to Obj' s sense of decorum. Even if all his allegations against GEJ are correct, Obj's approach paints him in a worse light. Honestly, the whole thing seem reactional, a cheap blackmail and he' s behaving like a wounded lion. Obj' s children should call him to order. They must be really embarrassed by his rantings. Are all his children saints? How many of them has he thrown away for disappointing him one way of the other. Is he also right before God? If God would mark iniquity, can he stand? He' s failing in his responsibility as a statesman. Old people mend bridges. God will defend the helpless. Already, people are already sympathising with GEJ because of what Obj is doing. How else does God arise to help a man?
