The first daughter of the late Kwara politician, Dr Olusola Saraki , Senator Gbemisola Saraki has denied plans to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) .
There were rumour of recent that Gbemisola was planning to dump the PDP over alleged irreconcilable differences between her and leaders of the party in the state.
The insinuation was further strengthened by her absence at the party’s presidential campaign rally in the state which hosted President Goodluck Jonathan.
She was also visibly absent at the launch of the party’s state-wide campaign at Bode Saadu in Moro local government area of the state.
But during a brief chat with newsmen at the Ilorin International Airport yesterday, Gbemisola expressed concern that the 2015 election has focused more on rumours and ‘stories’ than on real issues.
“The problem with this election is that it has been filled with rumours and counter rumour and stories. We should make the election issue-based and not rumours”, she said when asked for comment on the alleged planned defection.
Asked what instruction has been passed to her followers many of whom came to welcome her at the airport, Gbemisola said, “My folllowers are seasoned politicians; we are seasoned politicians. We understand the system and we know what is important. I don’t need to advise them on what to do because they know what to do and insha Allah they shall do it when the time comes.”
