Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday alleged that President Goodluck Jonathan is adopting the delay tactics of former Cote D Ivoire President, Laurent Gbagbo and warned of the likely dire consequences on Nigerians.
The former President who spoke with journalists at his mansion on Presidential Hilltop Estate, Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital said President Jonathan was playing with the future of the country.
Obasanjo noted that President Gbagbo kept shifting the election date in his country until he was sure of winning and when the elections came resulted in a run – off, he did not only refused to handover power upon losing, but also “unleashed chaos, confusion and crisis” on his people “until nemesis caught up with him.”
He warned President Jonathan to be careful of those prodding him on, saying when the heat begins, he would be left “naked and isolated.”

But this man OBJ is the reason for Nigerias failure, he started democracy from a clean slate and ruined it with rigging, corruption "16 Billion$ on power" disregard for rule of law n he opens his mouth to talk. OBJ's main issue with GEJ was that he was too democratic and that is what caused PDP's problem. From obeying court orders he created PDP problem "Amaech, Oshomole, Fayemi, Aregbeshola, OBI, mimiko. This due process removed pdp govs and put them and gave d opposition strenght and yet we say GEJ is weak cos he was being democratic, something we re not use to. OBJ is getting more foul mouthed on daily basis, and Nigerian votes will speak for GEJ. Maybe GMB will tell us why he accused and detained Pa Adekunle Ajasin twice even when he was not found guilty of any corruption charge. He should tell us what he did to Ambrose Ali of former Bendel State that amounted to his (Ambrose's) blindness in prison. He should tell us why he denied Tai Solari (asthma patient) access to his herbs used for the treatment of his illness. Maybe he will tell us why he detained Abe Aku of Benue State best performing governor during the Second Republic, Lateef Jakande of Lagos State, Fela Kuti, Audu Ogbe, Sam Mbakwe, and many others. Our quest for clarity will be achieved if GMB can tell us the offence Ekwueme committed that amounted to his detention in Kirikiri Maximum Prison while Shagari was declared innocent of the same crime purported to have been committed by his vice, Ekwueme. I hope he will not send Osibanjo to prison as it seems he (GMB) is suffering from paranoia. God bless Nigeria.

Nigeria election has only be postponed once. Saying that GEJ kept shifting election date is not only dubious but also suspicious. If he wants to conduct coup in Nigeria, he knows very well that he will not succeed.
