Bode George is not my godfather — Jimi Agbaje

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos state, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has declared that PDP leader, Bode George is not his godfather.

Agbaje who engaged his followers on social media in a Question and Answer session, stressed that George is a leader of the party in the state but not his political godfather as insinuated by the ruling party in the state, All Progressives Congress, APC.

“Bode George is not my godfather. He is one of the leaders in the PDP. When I joined PDP he wasn’t even aware,” he boasted.

He also pointed out that his administration will focus on Security, Health, Education & youth empowerment, Governance, transportation and Housing.

“My plan for Lagos state will focus on Security, Health, Education & youth empowerment, Governance, transportation and Housing”.

He also said that he will empower and strengthen Lagoos State Internal Revenue Service so that it can do away with the use of consultants.

“We will Empower and strengthen Lagos Internal Revenue Service because they are the right people to do the Job. We can’t have consultants forever. A model is needed that even when we use consultants, they transfer skills and leave”.

  2. YOU need to go back to school to study NIGERIAN POLITICS 101 to know that any party leader who impose candidate on the party by rigging the primary election is a GODFATHER.

  3. May be Mr Agbaje does not know that it was Bode George that single-handedly made him a PDP Guber aspirant and that he (Agbaje) will forever be grateful and subservent to George.
Truely, I like Jimi Agbaje and would have pledged my vote for him but I HATE PDP.

  6. Agbaje, you are going to be the next governor of Lagos State after Fashola. Even though I have been contracted by your opponent to support him, within me I know you to be a better candidate. Most of us in the opposition wants you because the present government in Lagos is in shamble The money they agreed to pay me to hire crowed for them has not been paid to us. The party is made up of OLD PEOPLE who does not have the interest of the youths at heart. I wish you well.

  9. We will not continue to accomodate JK's insults on Chief Bode George. Even if the Chief was not aware of when he joined PDP, couldn't there not be a better manner of addressing the issue? Where is the respect for our elder? Why has he forgotten so soon, the battle fought with Koro to ensure his emergence as the PDP governorship candidate. I doubt if Mr. Ambode of APC will respond in like manner when asked similar question. I hope JK understands the level of decorum and diplomacy required of the office of a governor, especially Lagos State. JK should be reminded that the dust is yet to settle on his sinister comment in London, relating to the Niger Delta militants and the reelection of President Jonathan. JK should not wallow in the seeming support from Koro to bite the fingers that are still feeding him. The baggage of this support may hurt him sooner than later. The records of APC in Lagos state are visible and second to none. Also, his main opponent, Mr. Ambode is a seasoned technocrat with quite an intimidating CV in public service. So the odds are against JK and he should be cautious of his comments.

    1. Thank God at least JK has the balls to say that. Ambode is his God father's stooge and dares not utter such. Enough is enough. Change is what we want all over Nigeria!! Lagos inclusive.
