Amosun Expresses Joy Over Obasonjo's Exit From PDP

The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, on Wednesday expressed joy over the exit of former President Olusegun Obasanjo from the Peoples Democratic Party.

Mr. Amosun spoke to PREMIUM TIMES at the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Abeokuta.

“You do not expect me to be talking about what our revered elder, Chief Obasanjo did,” Mr. Amosun said.

“He is more than qualified and competent to talk for himself and to decide for himself. For me, if you talk about people working with us, joining us, I am happy; the more the merrier. We will always benefit from people coming to join us.

“I am happy but I think Baba made his position very clear. I cannot even assist him. He is the person that can speak for himself and as people can see, he didn’t leave anybody in doubt.”

‪Meanwhile, Mr. Amosun accused the INEC of playing pranks in the distribution of Permanent Voters Cards in Ogun State.

He faulted the piecemeal supply and distribution of the cards, saying the total cards distributed are about 639,000, out of about 1.9million.

“If you even use our own figure, we are even more than two million. They must get us our cards, we don’t just make noise about it,” the governor said. “We don’t like to make noise about it and up till now, they have not dignified us with a reply. All those figures were listed there. We are expecting they will do the needful while they do same for other states.”

  1. Double-mouthed APC governors. You hailed Jega for being ready for the Feb. 14th elections. On Feb. 19th you are complaining of less than 50% distribution in ur state. Your ulterior motives will one day find you hypocrites out.
