The Peoples Democratic Party’s Presidential Campaign Organisation has said the witness who could have nailed the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on his activities as the head of the Petroleum Trust Fund is dead.
The organisation, in a statement in Abuja on Saturday, said by saying that there was nothing amiss in the financial transactions in the PTF, former President Olusegun Obasanjo was only trying to cover Buhari.
The statement was issued by the Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode.
Fani-Kayode said it was wrong for Obasanjo, under whose administration he (Fani-Kayode) served as Minister of Aviation, to say Buhari was a clean man.
The former president had said his government found nothing against the former Head of State when he investigated the PTF under Buhari.
But Fani-Kayode disagreed, asking what might have gone wrong or what would have made Obasanjo change his position on the issue, contrary to the report that was submitted to him by the team that investigated the fund.
He said, “One of the directors of Afri-Project Consortium, who was contracted by the PTF as management consultants and project consultants, is one person that could have nailed Buhari.
“He was in a position to indict him and tell the world all that he knew about the graft that took place at PTF, but he died under very mysterious circumstances shortly after the Dr. Haroun Adamu report was submitted to the Federal Government when Obasanjo was in power.
“Many people are asking whether this was a mere coincidence or whether there was more to it.
“It is curious that former President Obasanjo, an elder statesman that we hold in the highest esteem and under whose watch the Haroun Adamu probe of the PTF was conceived, commissioned and concluded, would come out and attempt to clear Buhari of all the charges made and issues raised in the report and give him a clean bill of health almost fourteen years later.
“The Adamu report not only conflicts with Obasanjo’s new-found position but it also proves that the position taken by the former president has no basis in reality.”

ReplyDeletePDP has delivered their part in the deal to set him free from going to prison for corrupt charges. However, on his part he now has an uphill task to be a political attack dog for PDP.
Alas!!! PDP has banked on the wrong guy to deliver on the mud slinging strategy.
I am even embarrassed that a totally naïve and unintelligent fellow such as FFK can still exits among the Political elites of our dear country Nigeria. Anyway sha, dia ris nothing God can not do. He can place any unintelligent fellow anywhere, just like our PhD holder that cannot even discuss eloquently nor intelligently (if you doubt me, go to youtube and see how he fumbles and contradicts himself everyday).
FFK is like GEJ, that does not have the demonstrated capacity to be consistent in logical thinking nor consistent with words he has uttered in the past. Please check youtube on the GEJ's contradictions in respect of Boko-Haram and MEND.
Now to FFK, herein lies his confusion and lack of intelligence;
1. Does FFK want Nigerians to believe that all evidences that the so-called witness possessed before his/her demise are not physical and they are just store in his/her brain. In law it amounts to nothing but mere hearsay and speculations.
2. Does FFK want Nigerians to believe that the person does not have identity nor colleagues nor close confidants that he/she would have divulge on the salient information and references to.
3. FFK has again prove one thing, PDP led Government is so clueless that it's cluelessness has rubbed on virtually on arms of the Government under them that would have been intelligent enough to prosecute even a fly. Let's remember the recently celebrated case of the so-called bombing master-mind suspect that they made so much news about repatriating from Sudan only for the Court to set the guy free and the guy is now suing the Federal Government for international embarrassment.
May God help Nigeria rid it's society of lineages such as that of FFK in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen and Amen.
