All Progressives Congress, APC Campaign Organization has said that it would hold the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP accountable should any misfortune befall its presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.
The Campaign Organization also advised President Jonathan and the leadership of PDP to take charge of their campaign for re-election before their surrogates plunge Nigeria into anarchy.
Reacting to a front page wrap-around advert on Monday’s edition of some newspapers in which Nigerians were asked to choose between life and death, grouping General Buhari among former Nigerian leaders who were either killed or died of natural causes while in office, the APC campaign through a statement signed by Mallam Garba Shehu, Director of Media and Publicity of the Campaign described the development as the height of political desperation.
The Controversial political advert |
“This is the height of desperate tactics by the PDP, which is capable of degenerating into unnecessary bloodshed and destruction. They are choosing death for us. This is not politics. We are therefore, asking our supporters to stay calm and be law-abiding.”
“The whole world is watching and that if anything happens to General Muhammadu Buhari before, during or after the elections, under the pretext of X, Y, or Z, we shall be left with no option than to conclude that the PDP and their surrogates are to be held accountable,” it said.
The statement further stated “even as a candidate, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has a duty to lead the country with responsibility up until May 29, when a new President will be inaugurated.”
It further appealed to “all APC members and millions of supporters of Buhari across the country not to play into the hands of the PDP hatchet men to be provoked and thereby, giving them the much-needed excuse to abort this democracy before or after the elections.”
APC campaign also said that it remained faithfully committed to the peace accord signed by the country’s political parties under the auspices of Ambassador Kofi Annan. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

DeleteRUM@>--: Fellow Nigerians, AM NOT A POLITICIAN or looking forward to get anything from any political party as we have Just few days to our elections and below are some vital things we must consider before casting our vote.

2. Buhari doesn't attend the Federal Council meetings yet collects his allowances. Mr. Integrity indeed.
3. Buhari canceled former Governor Jakande's metroline and forfeited the $50 million paid for it by the then Lagos State Government
4 Buhari used Violence to stop the September 1985 National Conference of the National AssociatIon of Nigeria Students.
5. Buhari jailed Tai Solarin and denied him his asthma drugs simply because he campaigned against military rule and for democracy.
6. Buhari Jailed Nduka irabor and Tunde Thompson for writing a truthful report which embarrassed his Government
7. Buhari raided respected Papa Awolowo's house and seized his passport so he couldn't travel out of the country. Was he also corrupt?

Nigerians must be careful what they wish for!
Keep sharing to keep Nigeria democratic and free from oppression.
It is quite appalling how Nigerian citizens want to allow themselves to be deceived BT the APC. Have they forgotten how Buhari's govt attempted to destroy Nigerians with their illiterate policy labelled 'AUSTERITY MEASURES' when his soldiers matched into our different market places to sell commodities belonging to poor Nigerian citizens at their own prices forcefully thinking it was the best way to control the prices of goods at that time. I wasnt surprised. No wonder he didn't have a secondary school cert. As uneducated as I am,I know the market parameters that may need to be adjusted to bring about favourable prices to our commodities in our markets. I just pray an ignorant like him does not ascend that throne.
Deleteif anything happen to GEJ APC will invariably be held liable
ReplyDeleteYou people that are wishing Buhari dead will in sha Allau died b4 him.Buhari is our next hope that God has given us since oga at the top has disappointed us.

ReplyDeleteGood punish PDP and those of you insulting GMB
ReplyDeleteGOD punish the so called PDP and their supporters.
ReplyDeleteMost Nigerian are too foolish. Buhari can never be our hope. We don't want a mean person to rule over us, cos they always do wot they feel like doing without taking correction. Nigerians should be careful wot they wish for, to avoid regret tomorrow. I want Change but not Buhari , period.
ReplyDeleteDescribes APC as a fragile anti-Jonathan setup
ReplyDeleteBROOKINGS, the world’s most influential think-tank based in the United States, have projected President Goodluck Jonathan’s victory over the opposition candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, in the February presidential election, which it suggests would be keenly contested.
The analysis, context and rationale of the think-tank’s projections were contained in the Brookings publication entitled: Foresight Africa – Top Priorities for the continent (January 2015).
“Though the election is expected to be very competitive, the odds still favour President Jonathan.”
According to Brookings, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a fragile anti-Jonathan establishment with a sole purpose to return power to the north.
“The party is, however, a fragile one that seems united only in its quest to wrest the presidency from Jonathan or to have power “returned” to the north.”
“The APC gets much of its strength from tapping into anti-Jonathan sentiments in the Muslim north and grievances among the Yoruba who feel that the Jonathan administration has ignored them in key political appointments.”
The report also indicated that “the APC’s strategy is hinged on a combination of popular votes from the North-West, North-East and “the battleground South-West” but also hinted at the possibility of Bola Ahmed Tinubu not delivering the region contrary to speculations.
“What remains to be seen, however, is whether Bola Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State who played a pivotal role in the formation of the APC and is considered to be the party’s strongest mobiliser in the South-West, will be very enthusiastic in delivering the battleground South-West to the APC during the elections.”
“Tinubu indicated his interest in being the party’s vice presidential candidate but being a Muslim like Buhari, the party’s strategists felt that a Muslim-Muslim ticket might offend Christians and cement the PDP’s labelling of the APC as an Islamic party.”
[/size]On President Jonathan’s performance: “despite Boko Haram, the country is thriving: The economy continues to grow and with the re-basing of its GDP, became the largest economy in Africa and the 26th largest in the world. Jonathan’s supporters also point to his success in containing the Ebola virus, which earned him commendations from countries and institutions around the world.”
The Brookings report also identified factors such as incumbency and numerical control of states where PDP has 21 states and APC only 14 as giving PDP an edge.
“The greatest strength of the ruling PDP is its “power of incumbency,” and all the institutional support that goes with it. Not only does it have federal resources to use as patronage, it also controls key institutions.”
The report advised that all efforts should be deployed to ensure a free, fair and transparent elections and to avoid a meltdown as post-election violence seems very likely.
“Post-election violence is therefore likely in the north if the APC loses while renewed militancy in the restive Niger Delta is likely if Jonathan does,” the report noted.

The first Executive president of Nigeria Alhaji Shehu Usman Aliyu Shagari has broken his silent after 32years of overthrown by General Mohammadu Buhari
This are what he said to AIT news reporter in Sokoto state yesterday and i humbly quote
"Jonathan may not be the best, but I can mention 3 to 4 breakthrough in Nigeria that occurred under his regime.
Under this administration, train is now back in Nigeria after about 30yrs of neglect (infact, my 27years old grandchild boarded train for the first time in his life in 2014)
First Government to construct modern Amajiri schools & 12 Universities.
First Government to construct cargo Airports & ensure all zone in Nigeria has an Int'l airport.
First Government to eradicate the high level corruption in the distribution of fertiliser.
And the very first Government to start diversifying Nigeria economy back to agric after Nigeria lost its agricultural glory in the 70s.
Now I ask, what are Buhari DEVELOPMENTAL strides as HEAD OF STATE? "
