The beautiful Zahra Buhari who is the APC presidential candidate's daughter took to twitter to defend her dad amidst the controversy surrounding his school certificate.
Oppositions have been alleging that Muhammadu Buhari do not possess a secondary school certificate and is thus not qualified to contest the February 14 presidential election.
Zahra Buhari has however come to the defence of her dad, stating that her dad wouldn't have been able to run some posts in the military if he was illiterate.
“About 53yrs ago he acquired this certificate. During his military years he held posts that couldn't possibly be run by an illiterate. Mind you, these were posts he managed very well. He ran for office 3 times, this is the forth time and now his certificate matters,” Zahri reveals on Twitter.
“The ruling party should accept the fact that they have failed Nigeria as a whole and we can't give them anymore chances. Misplaced priorities. Security should come first not #GMB s certificate. We don't want them anymore and we don't want them to persuade us to want them. We just simply do not WANT We know wat we want,” she adds.
Zahra Buari’s social media accounts were made public a fortnight ago; she came a trending topic on Twitter on the day her photos hit the internet. She has become a Twitter favourite with her followers' count growing by the day.

ReplyDeleteAll you people who call the lady fool ,most be fool of yourselves ,you can't just use your stupid finger and started typing rubbished, because the truth must be said . During Buhari military years he held posts that couldn't possibly be run by an illiterate. Mind you, He ran for Presidential post for 3 times, this is the forth times and now his certificate matters ,Why the issue of his certificate didn't come out in all the 3 times which he has ran for the post before ? You people who call the lady fool should be ashamed of yourselves before calling someone a fool. Jonathan must go and Buhari must become our beloved country Nigeria's president in this year 2015. All the enemy of progress shall be perish Insha'Allah means "God willing"
ReplyDeleteDear Zahra, I have no doubt that your father General Muhammadu Buhari (GMB) went to secondary school. So, I don't believe that he is an illiterate. The issue is very, very simple but Buhari has made it complex for himself by refusing to play by the rules which says that the candidate should attach the certificate to the form…. but he has failed to follow this simple instruction. He knows what the rule says but he has failed or refused or should I say that as it stands, he has not fulfilled that requirement. That is CORRUPTION AND INDISCIPLINE. Corruption is not just ' dey chop my money'. Corruption is not just about stealing. It goes beyond that. Also, indiscipline is not only when people refuse to join the line at bus stops. The soldiers that went about flogging people that did not obey the instruction at the bus stop when Buhari was the head of state did not listen to excuses that some people had that made them not to abide by the rules. I believe that Buhari went to school .But he should play by the rules of the game. Failure to do that no matter his reasons is nothing but indiscipline and corruption. That he has contested before and this certificate issue did not arise then doesn’t matter.
ReplyDeleteThere is a saying that ‘everyday is for the thief but one day is for the owner’.
Another thing that bothers me about Buhari is that why is it that he did not consider going back to acquire more knowledge by going to university for a degree or diploma course after IBB took over the government from him at the age of 43 or thereabout? That is his personal decision, anyway, but the world keeps changing so in my view the world has moved beyond people with his kind of level of education.
Furthermore, still on corruption, I am concerned about General Muhammadu Buhari’s benefitting from part of the stolen wealth that Tinubu must have contributed as a seed money to launch APC to this level. Will General Buhari tell me that he did not read or hear it in those days when Nuhu Ribadu of EFCC accused Tinubu of corruption? The thief and the person that eats from what the thief stole knowing that it is a stolen item are both guilty. Therefore what moral justification does General Muhammadu Buhari have to prosecute corrupt politicians? The question I keep asking myself is ‘will Buhari send corrupt PDP politicians to jail and leave Tinubu and my former governor Audu Abubakar of Kogi state?
One question I ask my friends anytime they invite me to join the tide of CHANGE is, change from what to what? The truth is there is no difference between APC and PDP except in nomenclature just like when Chief Obasanjo changed NEPA to PHCN. We did not see any difference except that NEPA (NEVER EXPECT POWER ALWAYS) became PHCN (PROBLEM HAS CHANGED NAME) . There are no fundamental or ideological differences between APC and PDP. It was the former CBN Governor, Charles Soludo that described the two parties as ‘aggrieved peoples congregation’ APC and ‘dining table politics’ , that is PDP. I will say that APC are aggrieved because they have no place in the dining table. I am neither for Buhari, who has failed to play by the rules by not attaching his certificate as required by INEC, nor for GEJ who waited for Pakistani, Malala, a 17years old girl to come to Nigeria and tell him what to do.
David
I bet u at dis age still think corruption has something to do with stealing pls contact ur dictionary for better understanding
DeleteYou fool must have finished your NYSC alive, but many NYSC members were murdered in 2011 because your father was defeated. You better advise him to quit if you love him or else the god of nemesis will strike him
ReplyDeleteDavid I love intelligent people like you this is a brilliant write up. I must advice that yoU should not be neutral you must vote for someone so that Nigeria will continue to move forward . I have never seen where a daughter/ son of politician Campaigns for his parents like this . This people must be very desperate to enter Aso Rock. Please tell your father that he should stop disgracing you there is no need continuing even if he wins he can not be allowed to rule with fake certificate.
ReplyDelete@ anonymous 1:35am( David).
ReplyDeleteur points are rather misconceived and a show of ignorance. Inec neva said that a candidate should attach his/ her cert, it simply said that u should state ur qualifications. furthermore, opposition parties that are not satisfied can use the instruments of the law to get the cert from his alma mater.
we are still operating with the 1999 constitution, and GMB contested in 2003,2007 &2011 without cert saga cos his parties then had no national based ideologies. he is now in stronger platform, we are hearing all mudslinging propaganda simply designed to divert our attention from real issues bedeviling this nation. unfortunately, pple like u with no morality and self reliance simply follow the bandwagon. can't u see that our country is being run by delinquents , street urchins and kleptomaniacs? someone who climbed to the top echelon of the military is now being an object of mockery. what a pple? Chasing rats while their house is on fire.
@ anonymous 8:59 AM,
DeletePlease refer to Section 131 of 1999 Nigerian Constitution. It says at 131 (d):”A person shall be qualified for election to the office of President if… he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent”.
Also the Electoral Act, Section 31 (2 to (5) states that:
“The list of information submitted (pls note that I highlighted this) by each candidate shall be accompanied by an affidavit sworn to by the candidate at the Federal High Court, High Court of a state or the FCT, indicating that he has fulfilled all the constitutional requirements for election into that office” (3) “The Commission shall within 7 days of the receipt of the personal particular of the candidate publish same in the constituency where the candidate intends to contest”
My take on the above is that this law requires prospective candidates for election to show proof of their qualification to contest for any office. Certificates are usually proof of all academic qualifications. The issue is, did General Muhammadu Buhari follow this instruction or not? Has he played by the rules of the game or not? What did he do?
Rather than Buhari submitting copies of his certificates he merely swore an affidavit claiming that his certificates are with the Military Board. By so doing, Buhari did not complete the primary requirements for qualification to contest the presidential election. This is disobedience, indiscipline and corruption.
It doesn’t matter what his reasons are. He might have as well left his certificate in the wardrope, or forgotten it underneath his bed or somewhere in his grandfather’s old house. But for him to come and tell Nigerians that his certificates are with the Military Board is unacceptable because that is not what the rule requires. It could be a brilliant lie.
On the issue you raised about the country being run by street urchins and kleptomaniac. My question is who are these people? Let me help you by providing the answer
On one side you have the ACN; Tinubu, Fashola and Ambode. They should tell us what they did with Lagos state government money? Particularly how they spent over 20billion naira that YarAdua gave to Lagos state. Tinubu has properties everywhere in lagos. What is the source? Nuhu Ribadu of EFCC had accused him of corruption. On the other side you have Ameachi, Kwakwanso, Atiku, Saraki e.tc. They all came with baggage of corruption from PDP to join the already corrupt people like Tinubu, Fashola and Ambode. Buhari has benefited and is still benefiting from the money they stole. So Buhari is also corrupt.Buhari is seeking to become president on a corrupt platform. The seed money they planted to fund APC is part of the stolen money. Corruption runs in the fabric of APC. Another team is PDP which is equally full of corrupt politicians. So when you talk about change, my question is change from what to what?
David
Anonymous 8:59 have you ever reflected on how buhari and other nothern generals rose to power? We need to start this way to fight corruption. If we start with buhari, he will also reveal the bad sides of gej and so goes the revolution. Dont blind yourself by tribe or sentiments because all our politicians are hell bent in mortgaging your future.
ReplyDeleteBravo David that was a blast! the case of buhari's certs was very simple from the beginning but buhari made it not as simple as I thought! am damn confused as well, that buhari cannot instruct Cambridge to release his certificate. This is corruption at its peak!
ReplyDeleteWho is the 'we'?
ReplyDeleteyour dad should come and rule without certificate because he has military idea to fight B/H. Both are working hand in hand. Let him present it, is a criteria set by INEC. Even the president GEJ pass through the same process. Is ur dad above the law? RRRRRRUUUUUUBBBBBIIIIISSSSSHHHHH
ReplyDeleteGod bless you David for this great points of view, they should tell Zahra to stop this noise that will not take them to anywhere, by the way why is she coming out to lay one complain or the order, did she hear any Jonathan's children nor family contesting with their father, so this is how you and your daddy going to control Nigeria i.e you people will turn Nigeria to family issue, please let your dad defend himself and not you, let him tell Nigerians' about the certificate saga otherwise, you guys are taking this country for granted, which means very soon the chairman of Agbero in motor park will soon come to contest as president of Nigeria, Nigeria please grow up, lets emulate other foreign countries for good thing, then what is the need for education in our lives, is it just to know how to speak english and how to cheat your fellow men? please there is hold education in high esteem, not like baba oloja
ReplyDeleteYou that are talking rubish about this gentle lady are fools. What have we derived from PHD holder since all these while? Stop deceiving Nigeria and our children's future.GMB will be our next president in Jesus name.If u are a business man,u employ a manager to manage your busines and for six years,no profit ,u are running into bankrupsy,i.e u can not meet up with your short term obligation without borrowing, won''t u replace such a poor manager? We must replace our president come Febr,2015..
ReplyDeleteAniways I don't think that Goodluck Jonathan has dine anifin for this nation xo I vote GMB....tho I am Christian buh ah funk ah knw wahds ryte for us......we love u GMB
ReplyDeleteSo pathetic that everything has been politicized in nigeria even the truth. Misplaced of priority is a germane issue here. Why the focus on GMB certificate when there are other important national issues like security, infrastructures phenomenon, plummeted economy and others?
ReplyDeleteReading through prior comment, I came to conclusion that so many people are partially suffering from brain turmoil.
Over 4trillion misappropriated is not enough to talk about; it GMB's certificate.
Shameful folks. Change we want in Nigeria #EoD#
