The Lagos Goodluck/Sambo Independent Campaign Group on Friday embarked on a road show to drum up support for the re-election bid of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the road show was led by Sen. Musilu Obanikoro.
Supporters and members of the PDP in the state danced through streets from Dopemu Bridge along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, where the rally took off, through major streets in Lagos West senatorial district.
It was a huge fanfare as the participants in the show sang while distributing leaflets canvassing support for the Jonathan/ Sambo ticket.
Addressing supporters, Obanikoro, the immediate past Minister of State for Defence reiterated the need for Nigerians not to be swayed by propaganda against Jonathan’s administration.
According to him, Jonathan’s administration, contrary to what Nigerians are being fed, is so far the best in the history of the country.
Obanikoro said, “Jonathan’s humility and tolerance had kept Nigeria together so far.
“People are trying to sell blue as white to Nigerians. We cannot afford to go backward.
“What we are expecting are brighter days that the Jonathan/Sambo administration will bring, not darker days.
“It’s either we embrace the future or go back to the trenches as we inch closer to the Election Day.”
Obanikoro said that a vote for Jonathan was a vote for the progress of the nation.
“The agenda of the present administration should be allowed to continue,” he said.
Obanikoro called on INEC to ensure that all the preparations for the general elections were completed in time.

ReplyDeleteWe have moved back in all aspects of our national live since Jonathan administration six years ago. We want to change from insecurity to security, unemployment to employment, poverty to richness, corruption to accountability and lack of infrastructures to good infrastructures. We can not continue try and error leadership. I like my religion, ethnicity but I love and care about my country. Therefore, I can not listen to trivia issues.
ReplyDeleteGod bless u Orji. These bunch of liars are jokers. Even if Buhari is not the messiah which we all know....the truth is Jonathan and his co-decivers will be disappointed come Feb.

ReplyDeleteAnonymous 8:57 AM you that is not lost and resides in this country, can you please articulate the major achievements of this administration in the area of corruption, security, unemployment , poverty and infrastructures. I do not support politicians because I am told to do so. It is a shame that at this stage of our national live many Nigerians have been meant to play sectional politics. I will advice that as a political commentator you approach issues with open mind but certainly not with empty head.
