Nigerian becomes first African to win International Tennis award

A 26 year old Nigerian international tennis player, Quadri Aruna has won the 2014 International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Star Award, making him the first African to win the coveted prize.
Quadri Aruna (born 9 August 1988) is a Nigerian table tennis player. He competed for Nigeria at the 2012 Summer Olympics, where he defeated a Spanish player before being defeated.
At the World Cup 2014, he reached the quarter finals in the Men's Singles competition
At an award ceremony held at the Armani Hotel in Dubai, Aruna beat Portugal's Marcos Freitas and Chinese pair Fan Zhendong and Xu Xin to land the coveted prize.
