The Peoples Democratic Party has said that it will be in the interest of Nigerians for President Goodluck Jonathan to win the February presidential poll because Nigeria will not be safe in the hands of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
The National Secretary of the PDP, Prof. Wale Oladipo, said this at a press conference in Osogbo on Monday to announce Jonathan’s visit to the state for his campaign.
He said that Nigerians could see that despite the numerous challenges facing the country, Jonathan was doing well and would not relent if he won another term in office.
Oladipo said, “Nigeria is safe in the hands of President Goodluck Jonathan. The President is doing a lot to keep the country going. It would have been worse if not for the wisdom he is using to direct the affairs of the nation.
“Buhari has only said he would clamp corrupt politicians in jail without resorting to court. He said he would stop insurgency. Ask him how? He does not know because he does not mean what he is saying.
“Buhari jailed somebody 301 years for allegedly stealing N5,000. He jailed the late Chief Bola Ige, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, Sam Mbakwe and others without trial. Buhari and the APC leaders are dangerous to democracy. Nigeria is not safe in their hands.”
Reacting to the collection of Permanent Voter Cards which is higher in the stronghold of the APC, he said that the PDP was not bothered because there was no indication that those who had collected their voter cards were members of the opposition party.
He called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure that every registered voter was allowed to vote in the February elections.
He also accused the APC of upturning the victories recorded in some local government elections while describing those in the party as bad losers.
The PDP scribe stated that Senator Musliu Obanikoro won a council election in Lagos State but his victory was allegedly annulled.
He also accused those criticising President Jonathan for the deployment of soldiers and policemen for election duty of hypocrisy.
Oladipo said that the PDP-led government at the centre did not deploy security agents to rig elections but to ensure adequate security for voters during elections. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Oh yes, and it's very safe in the hands of Jonathan. Bunch of clowns in PDP.
ReplyDeleteAsk them my brother abi sister? With all the economic down turn, drop in naira value, oil glut, kidnappings, insurgency. This idiot thinks Nigeria is now safer.
DeleteYou are a bigger idiot!
Deletei thought they do check words in this forum, too bad that people use hash words on our leaders and their comments are still published.
ReplyDeleteREFLECT ON THIS- APC has been consistent in
ReplyDeletesaying that PDP has ruled Nigeria for 16
disastrous years in which corruption, impunity,
insurgency, armed robbery and several ills of
society held sway. But at a very close look at the
APC, I am seeing: 1)Rotimi Amaechi – 8 years
speaker; 7 year, Governor under PDP. 2)Atiku
Abubakar – 8 years Vice president under PDP.
3)George Akume – 8 years Governor under PDP.
4)Bukola Saraki – 8 years Governor; 2 years,
Senator under PDP. 5)Timipre Sylver – 4 years
Governor under PDP. 6)Audu Ogbe – 2 years
National Chairman of the PDP. 7)Aminu Masari –
4 years as the Speaker, House of Representatives
under PDP. 8)Chris Ngige – 3 years Governor
under PDP. 9)Rabiu Kwankwaso – 7 years
Governor; 3 years Defense minister under PDP.
10)El Rufai – 4 years FCT Minister; 2 years BPE
Chairman under PDP. 11)Tambuwal-3years as
Speaker House of Reps under PDP; and to cap it
all, Obasanjo is the navigator of the APC, a man
who spent 8 of the disastrous 16 years as the
maximum ruler of Nigeria. It is now clear that
APC is a waste basket of the PDP, where the
people who created and perpetuated the 16
disastrous years are now dumped. So where is
the change coming from? Are they now saints
because they joined APC?
JONATHAN WE KNOW.
STUPID SET OF HUMAN CREATIONS...DO THEY STILL THINK THEY ARE LECTURING SOME BUNCH OF ILLITERATE NIGERIANS
ReplyDeleteJONATHAN WE KNOW! loud it to them. Nigerians' do not be deceived open your eyes and your senses so that we will not regret our vote
ReplyDelete"Jonathan is doing well..." Wonderful!! Can you imagine? Nobody is saying that any party is the saint or messiah for the country but when it comes to people telling outright lies, it is depressing!!! We are grappling with so many incompetence of Jonathan regime and somebody is telling white lies about what is not!
ReplyDeleteThieves are not safe you meant, not Nigerians. I want change. We want change.
ReplyDeleteWell, Buhari only jailed Bola Ige and the others and they lived to fight another day. But one of your PDP senators in Osun State killed Bola Ige. Which one is more heinous? Give me change jare whatever it is. I will rather be in jail in Buhari's Nigeria than dead in another 4 years of PDP government.
