I’ll provide electricity for businesses in Nigeria, says Buhari

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Retired Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, has promised to provide electricity for businesses in Nigeria as well as revamp the moribund coal industry in the South East, if elected.

Buhari made the promise on Saturday during the party’s presidential rally held at the Okpara Square, Enugu. “We will provide electricity for our tailors and entrepreneurs to do their businesses without hitches,” he said.

He said that revamping the coal industry and other moribund industries in the zone would help to create job opportunities for the unemployed youths.

“We will also improve investments in agriculture and power to encourage small businesses in the country to grow.

“We will secure this country and make sure that the issue of Boko Haram is a thing of the past.
The National Chairman of the party, Chief Odigie Oyegun, commended Enugu residents for their massive turn out for the rally.

Oyegun called on the people of the state to support the APC during the upcoming elections in order to experience a positive change.

The Director-General of the Buhari Campaign Organisation, Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers, said that if voted into power, the APC government would work assiduously to improve the state of infrastructure in the country.

In his remarks, Senator Chris Ngige said the party would wage war against corruption and indiscipline, if voted into power.

Also speaking, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State said that the party would facilitate the creation of an additional state in the zone.

“Your Excellency, when you become the president, we shall hold your neck and legs to give us an additional state in the south east.

The APC Woman Leader, Hajiya Ramatu Aliyu, called on Igbo women to support the party, saying that APC would ensure their empowerment.

Aliyu appealed to the women to collect their Permanent Voter Cards to enable them to vote for the party during the elections.

The event featured the presentation of a flag to the party’s gubernatorial candidate for the state, Mr Okey Ezea.
