Four killed, 15 injured as blast hits Pakistan

At least four people were killed and 15 others injured when a bomb went off outside a religious center of Shia Muslims in Pakistan’s garrison city of Rawalpindi, local media reported.
ARY News said that the explosion happened when a congregation was going on in the center located in Chittian Hattian area of Rawalpindi on Friday night, a major city of the country’s east Punjab province.
Talking to media, an eye witness Muhammad Shahzad said he saw a motorbike rider blowing up himself at the main gate of the shrine.
Police did not confirm the nature of the blast yet.
The injured people including two policemen were taken to a nearby hospital where several of them were in a critical condition.
Rescue teams rushed to the blast site, while the authorities put two major hospitals in the city on high alert.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Police and security forces cordoned off the area for a search operation.
Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, condemned the blast and directed hospital authorities to provide best possible medical treatment to the injured people.
