Former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel has taken a swipe at the current Governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, for not delivering on his electoral promises few weeks to the expiration of his tenure.
Speaking during the campaign of a People’s Democratic Party House of Representatives candidate for Remo Federal Constituency, Oladipupo Adebutu, Daniel lamented the non-completion of the Sagamu-Ikenne expressway dualisation and airport project embarked upon by his administration but neglected by the incumbent regime.
“We got the international approval from the international civil aviation authority, we got the national approval from the ministry of aviation and we also signed all necessary agreements with our foreign partners who had brought in their money to invest in the project.
All that was left was for the construction to commence but when Amosun came, he sent the investors away from the site. Be careful of politicians like that who will only come to raise your hopes,” he said.
Adebutu on his part called on the people to elect him as their representative, vowing to serve them diligently because of his knowledge of their plight and expectations.
“Having stayed and lived with you in the past 25years, I understand your plight.”
“I will sponsor bills that will bring federal presence to Remo, thereby providing the much-anticipated dividends of democracy,” he said.
Reacting to Daniel’s latest attack, Commissioner for Information in the State, Yusuph Olaniyonu, told journalists that there was no need joining issues with a man whose administration failed the people of Ogun for eight years.
He said, “Daniel knows that if any logical comparison is made between his eight years in office and the 43 months of this administration, it will be too glaring that he failed. An engineer whose administration failed in the area of infrastructural development, he should bury his face in shame.” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Daniel should not be bold to attack Amosun if he has integrity in the first instance. Comparing the achievement between both of them, it is a CLEAR thing that even the blind can see and feel it. 8 years of Daniel compared with 4 years of Amosun.
ReplyDeleteDaniel should show some respect and learnt. Nothing bad in Failure perharps you did your best at that time but the worst thing is not learning. And you can never learn until you accept you failed and willing to improve
Polititians are very funny lot! How can a Daniel raise his head where Amosun is talking on infrastructure? ? Clear light and darkness. Stark difference. Just too clear. Touchable, feel-able and even see-able to the blind. What a shame Daniel can still talk!! SMH
