Fayose to Fayemi: 'Stop lying on cost of government house'

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has told his predecessor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, to stop lying on the actual cost of the new Government House that he inaugurated in his last days in office.

The Governor said the total contract sum for the Oke Ayoba Government House was N3.38bn and not N2.1bn as claimed by Fayemi.

Fayose in a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, on Monday revealed that Fayemi authorised the award of additional contracts for the building on October 10, 2014.

He disclosed that the contract was initially awarded to Kouris Construction Nig. Ltd on July 27, 2012 for N2,054,573,822.00 while additional contract of N730,186,636.87 was awarded on October 10, 2014, six days before the expiration of Fayemi’s administration.

The statement read, “Apart from the additional contract of N730m, another contract worth N604,961,645.72 for the furnishing of the Government House was awarded to Kitwood Nigeria Limited on June 18, 2014, three days to the governorship election that he (Fayemi) lost scandalously.

“If Fayemi and his men lack knowledge of simple arithmetic, we will help by telling them that addition of N2,054,573,822.00, N730,186,636.87 and N604,961,645.72 will be N3,389,722,104.59 (N3.38bn).

“Now we ask, is Fayemi saying that as the governor then, he lost control such that he was not aware that the two additional contracts were awarded on June 18 and October 10, 2014?

“If Fayemi did not authorise the two contracts, shouldn’t he simply ask his Chief of Staff, Yemi Adaramodu, in whose office the contractors signed the contract agreements, instead of going about advertising his ignorance?”

“In saner climes, Fayemi won’t have the effrontery to defend his use of borrowed fund to build government house, pavilion and civic centre, when a life-touching project like the Oba Adejugbe General Hospital was left uncompleted.”

  1. Fayose or what is his name should go to hell for all I care. He should park out of government house if the place is hot for him to stay. To me I think his evil dd is now after him that is why he is restless in the government house. If he has not done something bad to win election he wouldn't hv any reason crying in a vargin house which his predecesors built . Ayo Fayose dd evil and the evil is now running after him and he could not rest with all his cohort. Fayose meaning ifa Gods will do it. May be he did not pay all the sacrificies items that ifa asked him to provided now ifa won't him to pay by all means and ifa decided to punish him. PDP gave him 40bilion yet he is now crying over just 3bilion if at all it is tru. Let him gv 3bilion bak to Ekiti government as compensation from the 40billion PDP gave him to win Ekiti State for the party instead of crying. Since Oct 19 2014 he has been crying yet he did not move out of that house. Please my Ekiti kete people help me ask him to stop crying and go bak to pay his debt to ifa as promised and agreement before ifa kill him o. God bless Ekiti land of honor and fountain of knowledge.

    1. What happened about listening to the message and not concentrating on the message that is the mantra of APC and it's supporters. Like Fayose or not his claims are justified and he has provided empirical evidence- dates, amounts, locations and even contractors. Let Fayemi refute them with empirical evidence. This long talk about Ifa and Co is begging the issue please.
