The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buahri has condemned an attack on the campaign bus of President Goodluck Jonathan in Jos. Jonathan is standing for reelection on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
In a series of tweets on Saturday, Buhari said every Nigerian life is scared and should not be wasted as a result of campaign or electioneering. “I have received news of violence in Jos today. I condemn this violence in its entirety. I reject any supporter who resorts to violence.
“We can and we will bring #Change to Nigeria peacefully. I call on the PDP to join this call for peace. Every Nigerian life is sacred,” he said.
“Like I said after the attack on our supporters in Rivers this week, elections are not war. Electoral violence is unacceptable.
“The trend of uncontrolled violence in the polity needs to end. From terrorists to wanton hooligans, this government needs to step up and do its job.
“Find perpetrators of violence as soon as they act, irrespective of who they are or who they align with, arrest them and let them face the full wrath of the law.
“We have a government in this country. It cannot continue to abandon its responsibility to ensure peace. It needs to do its job.”
It would be recalled that some angry youths on Saturday attacked and set ablaze a campaign bus branded with President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign posters at Zololo junction, Bauchi road in Jos, Plateau state.
It is not clear what led to the attack. Police could not be immediately reached for comments Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

ReplyDeleteUmpire, the Jos incident is PDP vs PDP and has nothing to do APC. Get your facts, and stop all this rubbish campaign against APC.
DeleteMy broda is awind of change and change mus com 2015 by GOD grace. plateau says apc
Delete@Umpire U'r d biggest fool I've feel, must u talk like imbesite?
ReplyDeleteY are u demonstrating the APC violence with ur comment, can't u read other people's comments refuting mine objectively and mean while is imbesite a web address or u 're certificateless like Buhari
DeleteThat's nonsense comment. What did you say when GMB supporters were attacked in PH. Though I am not in support of political violence but it is wrong to associate APC with it. Atleast GMB has publicly denounce it. Other political parties also are duty bound to uphold peace.
ReplyDeleteGMB IS JUST SHADING CROCODILE TEARS. HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTACK AS HE WANTS POWER BY ALL MEANS. HE HAS BEEN FAILING AND HE WILL FAIL AGAIN BECAUSE THEY ( APC) HAVE BEEN ATTACKING PERSONS INSTEAD OF ISSUES. SOME PEOPLE ARE SUPPORTING GMB OUT OF PITY AND NOT BECAUSE OF COMPETENCY. IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, GMB IS NOT QUALIFIED AND COMPETENT TO LEAD THIS COUNTRY. PERIOD.
