Between Jonathan and Buhari, who is the most experienced to tackle security issue? - Fashola asks

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, has said although President Goodluck Jonathan is younger than the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Maj.Gen Muhammadu Buhari, the President is not as competent in tackling insecurity and corruption.

The governor said this at the Lagos Central mega rally of the party on Friday.

Fashola had said on Wednesday that the people of Lagos should not vote for an old person.

Consequently, some critics had challenged Fashola to justify Buhari’s ability to govern Nigeria given his age.

However, on Friday, he said people should vote for competence and not age.

But replying the critics on Friday at the ongoing APC governorship campaign in Apapa, Fashola said Nigeria’s most challenging problems are insecurity and corruption, which he said could only be tackled by Buhari given his track records as an experienced security expert and a man of integrity.

He said, “Some people are challenging me that if I say Agbaje is too old to govern Lagos, what about Buhari who is older? My response is this: We all agree that we have problem of insecurity in the country. Between Jonathan and Buhari, who is the most experienced to tackle security issue? We all know it is Buhari, an experienced security expert. Then on corruption issue, who is the most credible between the two? It is Buhari? He has ruled Nigeria before and headed several positions without record of corruption and mismanagement.

  1. President Jonathan is not as experienced in security matters as Buhari. A President is not supposed to know all things. The experienced and competent Buhari has however refused to participate in the security council meetings held severalty for all ex Presidents and heads of state to contribute their quota. Must he be a President before he can contribute to nation building?

  4. Fashola sounds like an imbecile talking from both sides of his mouth. Hypocrisy is what is wrong with this incompetent and self serving Lagos Governor.

  5. It is better to endorse a goat than to endorse Buhari. He will be the worst thing to happen to Nigeria. A man with sense of progress, no contribution to his life and others. A former petroleum Minister, former military Head of State and PTF chairman yet has no endowment in his name, no scholarship, no school built in his name. No oommunity service, No employee except domestic staff. Such a man has no business with being president.

  6. How can Fashola endorse a 73 year old man Buhari yet have the effrontery to call 58 year old Jimmy Agbaje too old. Fashola has lost his sanity since he joined the APC.

  7. Stop voting for Tribe, religion, age etc. Vote for competence. We currently have a big issue of insurgency that is claiming part of our territorial borders. How can you support someone who can't even ensure the soldiers are better equipped? Who hasn't even made a move on #bringbackourgirls campagn instead he ordered the police to disturb their rally. Can you trust your future on such a selfish person?

In the issue of corruption there has been several scandals all through his 5years in office amounting to over $30 billion which is enough to stablise our power supply.

Ususally people perform better in their first term. My question is this, if our president performed like this in his first term how would the second term be?

Graduates are now being paid 30k monthly. What a shame.

I can support anybody but not our current president.

  10. Some commentators here need to go back to school. Again I am surprised at how corruption has damaged the psyche of people. Because GMB do not build estates, companies etc in his name some people think he is not progressive minded. Infact, he is Nigeria hero and should be celebrated. We need leaders like him. Age, qualifications, religion and ethnicity are irrelevant. What we want is leader who can provide health care, quality education to our people, good road, security, employment and solve other problems we have. Let's stop sentimental comments if we truely love Nigeria. Of what benefit is it to us to have young and educated president yet the country is brought to its knees by corruption, insecurity, unemployment and poverty. It is dangerous to be suffering and smiling.

  12. Could APC be the Nigerian version of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood Party? Check out this: 1. Party Leader - North: Gen Muhammadu Buhari (Muslim). 2. Party Leader - South: Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Muslim). 3. National Chairman: Abdulkareem Bisi Akande (Muslim). 4. Deputy National Chairman: Aminu Bello Masari (Muslim). 5. National Secretary: Tijjani Musa Tumsah (Muslim). 6. Deputy National Secretary: Nasir El-Rufai (Muslim). 7. National Publicity Secretary: Lai Muhammad (Muslim). 8. National Treasurer: Sadiya Umar Faruq (Muslim) 9. National Financial Secretary: Alhaji Shaibu Musa (Muslim). 10. National Youth Leader: Abubakar Lado (Muslim). 11. National Legal Adviser: Muiz Banie (Muslim). 12. National Deputy Auditor: Bala Jibrin (Muslim). 13. National Women Leader: Sharia Ikeazor (Muslim convert). 14. EX-Officio Member: Muniru Muse (Muslim). 15. EX-Officio Member: Alhaji Yemi Sanusi (Muslim). Yet, these people want us to believe they are PROGRESSIVES and that APC is a national party. I think APC has a hidden religious agenda..Be guided people!

Share to all Christian you know to vote wisely. I will not want my children to live in a Nigeria where they cannot worship their GOD!

  15. Nigeria you all should think well before voting . Buhari is here to treat his pass mistakes, He want to recover what he did not afford when he was in seat both, the schools ,companies, houses and world high develop investment and so on for his self and family. We should give President good luck a chance. To. Change things that we have been through and also learn from his mistake and make our country a better place to live in the world. My people be wise since Goodluck came to power our country has been know to the world let's give me a chance to rule he has the best to offer in this tenor.
