Anambra Bishop presents Bible to Buhari

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the February 14 election, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday got a copy of King James Version of the Holy Bible as a special gift from the Anglican Bishop of Awka, Rt. Rev. Alex Ibezim.

The former head of state was in Ibezim’s house before the rally, which took place at Emmaus House, Awka.

Addressing supporters at the rally, Buhari promised to end the spate of insecurity and revolutionize the economy if elected President in the February election.

He said he would improve public power supply to boost investment opportunities in places like Onitsha and Nnewi, which form the bedrock of the economy of the South-East.

Also speaking at the event, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, refuted the claims by some Buhari’s opponents that he planned to make Islam a state religion when he becomes president.

“Buhari was once a military general and Head of State. He had decree and power. If he didn’t do it then, is it now that we are in a democracy that he will Islamise Nigeria?” he asked.

Buhari, who was accompanied by Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, the National Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, former Abia State Governor, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, and former Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Segun Oni, had earlier visited the Eze Uzu of Awka, Obi Gibson Nwosu.

  5. That is a very stupid comment. This is our country and democratic state so everyone is free to campaign anywhere. If you don't like him other Igbos and indeed Nigerians want GMB. We have passed the era of sentimental politics and you will be left behind. What have you benefited from Jonathan's presidency.
