The All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has promised to provide allowances to discharged but unemployed Youth Corps members for Twelve (12) months while in the skills and entrepreneurial development programmes, if elected in 2015. There is also the pledge to provide One Meal a day for all Primary school pupils.
Buhari/Osibanjo administration also vow to create a Social Welfare Program of at least Five Thousand Naira (N5000) that will cater for the 25 million poorest and most vulnerable citizens upon the demonstration of children’s enrolment in school and evidence of immunisation to help promote family stability.
“As a nation and the Sub Saharan Africa’s leading energy producer, we had in the past squandered the opportunity to build functional infrastructure to better the lives of the average Nigerian. We can no longer afford this luxury of inactivity. We must revive our public and private sectors in order to provide functional services and secure the good of the individual Nigerian and his or her family,” Buhari said in a document that reveals some of his plans for 2015. This is not sustainable!! It is easier said than done, maybe for the sake of winning the hearts of the electorate. The unemployed are much more than those in employment. To provide free food for the pupil and students throughout the whole federation isn't attainable. Except Government has decided not to do any other project again. Nigeria will need to break world bank to realise this, I mean for now. Looking at the population of Nigeria, the population of unemployed and thenumber of pupil aand students all over Nigeria isn't going to be a small project ooo. Its going to gulp very much more than the fuelsubsidy which the Government is cry about. Beside, its going to another means of breeding corruption in Nigeria. Oga Buhari, pls say something that is realisable and stop playing on our intelligence.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it not sustainable? The billions of naira being stolen unabated could be used to fund these programs. It's being done in some countries in Africa. Why would you think it can't be sustained.
DeleteAs for this breeding corruption, that will only happen only if we have somebody like GEJ as president.
YES! man of integrity u can do even more than dat. up APC UP>NIGERIA, POSITIVE CHANGE.
ReplyDelete@anony 4.35 u are very right. He is just saying. I guess he should adopt another means of campaign and stop saying things that are no doable.
ReplyDeleteLet us try him he will do it compare to ogoro master being controlling by women
ReplyDeleteIf you care to ask your elders who attended public primary schools in the 60s & 70s, they'll comfirm to you that they were served midday meals on the bill of governments (at least in the West). Delete corruption, with prudent management of resources, these are not impossible. The generation of today's youth have grown up in a culture of deceit that its difficult to discern honest intentions when they emerge. Serious paradigm shift is needed. For many, realities are perceived through terribly coloured and extremely narrow prisms. God help us!
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely correct. What we have today are youths who were born into a corrupt society in which they have grown up and will look in disbelief when any one comes with genuine programs. They did not experience the 60's & 70"s in order to make informed comparison between both climes.
DeleteWe have passed this stage of I WILL WATER EVERY HOUSE AND PUT FIRE IN EVERY CITY. What we need to hear is issues-based, ideological driven campaigns. After failing four times Buhari is yet to learn.
ReplyDeletethis is attainable as Kwankwoso has and is still doing it in Kano public schools. The entire pupils and students are not more than 10 million. Their meal per plate on large scale production prudently cannot be more than 100 naira. this will total to a billion per day. In a year we are talking of less than 360 billion. By the time Buhari diagnose, repair and clear the corruption in NNPC alone, this amount is accrue-able in day from a segment in NNPC. People doesn't know the level of corruption presently going on in this country; private jets, church businesses, arms scandals, under execution of budget, squandering of excess reserve, etc. If we have good manager, surprises will reign.
ReplyDeleteMr Buhari have you provide your certificate? Old former Cattle rearer...
ReplyDeleteWat a foolish, unrealistic ideology, u must think Nigerians are fool! Idiot.
