Pope Francis on Sunday condemned the deadly attacks on a mosque in northern Nigeria as an “extremely serious sin against God”, in comments on the final day of his trip to Turkey.
During his historic visit to Turkey, the Catholic Pontiff joined French President Francois Hollande in condemning the attack and has called for a united front against the barbarism of Boko Haram Islamists.
Pope Francis labelled the attack an “extremely serious sin against God”.
In a meeting with Turkish political and religious officials, at the start of his second trip to the Middle East this year, the Pope further urged Muslim leaders to condemn the “barbaric violence” being committed in Islam’s name against religious minorities in Iraq and Syria.
Pope Francis visit is aimed at improving inter-faith ties.
At least 120 people were killed and 270 others wounded when two suicide bombers blew themselves up and gunmen opened fire during weekly prayers on Friday at the Grand Mosque in Kano. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

We need God in this country
ReplyDeleteGod is watching the wickedness of man here on earth especially, in Nigeria and his reward is at hand, he will come quickly to judge the world according to what you sow
ReplyDeleteA tree is judge by its fruits. A tree that bears good fruits will be valued and admired around the world. A tree that bears fruits that poison the mind and contaminate the earth is a bad tree even if it were planted by prophets. So it is not whether the Koran is a book of peace or not. It is how the religion is practiced. As of right now, of all the religions in the world, Islam is alone in its inhumane practices and it's inability to accept people of other faiths as their equal. If a religion is unable to serve the very humanity God created for this world, can it ever serve God's purposes?
