PDP cancels Ogun governorship primary

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has cancelled the governorship primary election in Ogun state.
The party in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, in Abuja on Monday morning, said that the primary was not authorised.
He said that a new date would be announced later for the conduct of the primary election.
Metuh said, "For the avoidance of doubt, the NWC hereby states that it did not authorise any governorship primary in Ogun state.
"Consequently, any such exercise held in Ogun state is hereby declared null and void and of no effect.
