Nigerians will appreciate me when I leave Office – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has said that Nigerians will appreciate the good works he has done for the country after he has left office.

Speaking, Tuesday, when he received a delegation from Bayelsa State who paid him a visit as part of the Christmas celebration, President Jonathan said he will continue to do his best in order to meet the expectations of not only Nigerians but especially the people of Bayelsa State.

According to President Jonathan, the seat of the president of the country belongs to Nigerians and only them can decide who occupies the seat at any point in time.

"The new year is full of challenges. Everywhere will be hot from the 2nd of January. I am here by the grace of God and the will of Nigerians. If I don't do well the shame will be on you. I will do my best. I don't expect praises now. It's when you leave that people will begin to compare you with others. I will do my best to address all the challenges we are having. I will do my best so that when I leave the people will compare what I have done and what others before me have done.

The seat belongs to the country and it is only the country that can decide who occupies it" he said.

President Jonathan enjoin the people of Bayelsa state to pray for the country adding that he will continue to do his best for the country.

In his remarks, the governor of Bayelsa state, Seriake Dickson said the delegation was in the state house to show solidarity with the president and express appreciation to Nigerians for supporting President Jonathan thus far.

"We are here to show solidarity and to let everybody know that your people in Bayelsa are with you. It is in the spirit of Christmas that we are here on behalf of the people of Bayelsa to wish you, your government and family compliments of the season and a very happy, prosperous and victorious 2015.

"We bring you prayers and strong message of solidarity. We are here to thank Nigerians for their support for your government" he said.

    2. Paid GEJ Sycophant. I wonder who is more illiterate between you and Buhari. If he has claimed he went to all the Military training schools and got those certificates he has claimed for so many years and those foreign academies (who award certificates equivalent to degrees) have not cried foul since and they never will. And you the so called schooled "Hausa Fulani GEJ Sycophant" can't even understand that. What school did you even go to if I may ask? Hmm none, I guess I was right initially.

  14. The only people that will miss this Clown are the thieves and those that recently donated Billions to his campaign who have really done well under his government. He is surrounded by even bigger Clowns who are earning money by pretending to be Special Advisers! People like Okupe who recently compared him to Jesus Christ. If he had compared him to Prophet Mohammed, the muslims would have killed him by now and nobody would miss his departure.
One of his advisers called him a dedicated PHD holder and Buhari a semi illeterate. Let's compare their achievements:
Goodluck Jonathan attended Port Harcourt university and came out with a 2nd Class first degree. He could not proceed to study for higher degree at a top University abroad like most of us did because a 2nd class degree is 50 a penny. He stayed at Port Harcourt to obtain his 'Phd degree and later became an ordinary Uni lecturer and never rose higher until he discovered Politics and became deputy Governor to the Convicted Thief.
General Buhari like Obasanjo trained as a professional army officer and attended the best Army Academies in the world. He and Obasanjo fought distinguishably during the Nigerian Civil War and thanks to these men Nigeria is still united. Both rose to the very top of their professions. Goodluck Jonathan never rose to any level in his teaching profession. SO PLEASE THROW OUT ALL THESE STUPID SPECIAL ADVISERS AND LET US HAVE A TRULLY WORLD CLASS GOVERNEMNT

  15. What's the sense in appreciating you after service. Good governance is appreciated during its time of service to the people.
