The wife of the chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities at the Osun State University, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Abiona, has been released by her abductors.
The ASUU chairman in the university, Dr. Seye Abiona, confirmed the release of his wife to our correspondent on the telephone on Tuesday.
He said that his wife was released by her abductors along Ilesa-Akure Expressway on Tuesday afternoon.
Abiona said that two members of the gang were arrested by security operatives.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor of UNIOSUN, Prof. Siyan Oyeweso, who first confirmed the release of Olufunmilayo to our correspondent, said that the university community was happy because the woman was freed without being harmed by her captors.
