Having failed to conduct crisis-free primaries in Ogun State to choose the Peoples Democratic Party candidates to contest the 2015 elections, the leaders of various camps in the state PDP have shifted their base to Abuja to adopt ‘consensus” candidates.
The primaries for the various positions in the party have been dogged by controversies, leading to rescheduling of the exercise and boycott, as witnessed in the governorship primary, PDP leaders in the state opted to converge on Abuja on Thursday to ‘share’ various positions to the three major camps within the party in the state.
Our correspondent learnt that present at the Abuja meeting, where the PDP chairman in Ogun State, Mr. Adebayo Dayo, was not invited, are the Chairman, Organising and Mobilisation of the PDP in the South-West, Mr. Buruji Kashamu; a former Governor of the State, Chief Gbenga Daniel, and former Minister of Industries, Senator Jubril martins Kuye.
The crisis in the state chapter of the PDP climaxed on Monday when the National Working Committee of the party directed that the governorship primary in the state, which was already in session, be suspended.
Dayo, who went ahead to conduct the primary, which was boycotted by nine of the governorship aspirants, claimed that he was not aware of such directive.
A source told our correspondent on Thursday that Kashamu, Daniel and Kuye would “deliberate on various positions from the House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate and governorship and pick candidates from various camps” to contest the general elections in 2015.
The source, a lawmaker, said, “Their job is to allocate the posts among themselves and the leaders will now give the tickets to those in their camps, who will now stand for elections. The idea of primaries cannot work; their will be more crisis in the party with the idea of primaries. That is the only way the party will survive the coming elections.
“By tomorrow (Friday) morning, the meeting would have been over and then everyone will know what he has. Some of these governorship aspirants like Dimeji Bankole and Abiodun Akinlade may eventually end up in the House of Representatives.” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Bunch of losers, imagine they can't even comport them self to choose a candidate. They can choose who ever they want that won't change the situation in Ogun state. Who is even interested in likes of Daniel who spent 8years in government to commission Dimeji Bankole Sango- Ota bridge.
