Israeli police on Wednesday detained 30 people, including senior political figures and bureaucrats, after a year long investigation into corruption allegations.
Those detained for questioning include a member of parliament, a former minister and other high level officials, according to a police statement.
The allegations against the officials include corruption, money laundering, setting up straw companies and charities to funnel funds and appointing people to top posts in return for political favours.
