A People Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representative aspirant, Ms Ayisha Osori, has dumped the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC) after emerging winner on the PDP platform.
Osori made the announcement on Tuesday in Abuja while briefing newsmen at the APC national secretariat.
NAN recalls that Osori emerged winner at the just concluded AMAC/Bwari federal constituency primary in the Federal Capital Territory.
Osori, who was presented with the membership card of the APC, told newsmen she decided to carpet-cross after watching the APC primary because she believed in Osinbajo, who was her lecturer at one time.
“I decided to denounce membership after watching the APC conduct its presidential primary in a fair and competitive manner and after seeing the combination of Osinbajo and Buhari, both men of integrity.
“Osibanjo used to teach me at the University of Lagos, faculty of law, I believe that is a great combination that would move the country forward and I want to be part of that team,” she said.
According to her, the APC slogan ‘Change’ is enough reason to support the party as she was sure of winning the on the platform of APC.
Osori noted that more than 70 per cent of Nigerians were youths who wanted the change that “APC represents”.
On what her contribution would be to ensure the success of the APC at the general elections, Osori, who is the CEO of the Nigerian Women’s Trust Fund, cited experience.
“The years of experience I garnered in the private sector as a lawyer and also as writer, first with Thisday and later with Leadership newspapers will be of value to APC.
Reacting to the defection, the APC National Secretary, Mai-Mala Buni, who presented the membership card to Osori, expressed delight because his party was waxing stronger by the day.
“Such event will be a continuous thing. Our doors are open. Everybody, who is ready to join the party, is welcome anytime, any day,” he said. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Is good to be upright!
ReplyDeleteThank God u can see beyond ur view
ReplyDeleteHarvest of sentiments. Selfishness and sentiments are among the things killing Nigeria. Just because Osibanjo was your lecturer. Osibanjo who has not be tested as politician and Buhari who has no good record in governance. Do not forget Buhari ran with Bakare who is also a lawyer and a G.O not just a branch pastor like Osibanjo, yet he lost. By the way who told you that 70% youths of Nigeria will support old school and aged politicians like Buhari and Osibanjo instead of GEJ. Only sentiment is driving you not because Buhari has done anything good or better than GEJ. Instead he is believed to be responsible for the insecurity in North going by his threats before, during and after 2011 elections.
ReplyDeleteYou talk about sentiment yet everything you have commented is full of sentiment! You obviously have not taken time to study Nigeria's history; especially that of the 2nd republic to understand enough to comment logically.
DeleteThere is something about people's personalities that you may neva understand: and that is that a leader is always a leader..& once u make contact with one your outlook & entire wordview will change.
That is why knowing some notable people on a company's board can give you the assurance that your investment is safe.
So don't bring your baseless sentiments into the poor girls firm belief! It's not like she is disgruntled or didn't win the primaries on PDP'S platform.
Obinna O
That's brilliant. Thus is a lady with foresight and God guide you in your ways
ReplyDeleteThis is for you @Anonymous 8:48Am and others like you who have been paid by GEJ sycophants to follow every opposition comment on the Internet. This is just the beginning you hear. More people will follow suite very soon. You cannot pull a wool over people's eyes forever, one day it will fall off and they will see the light.
ReplyDeleteYou say Buhari has no record of good governance, ok, how come a lot of Nigerians who were alive during the period he was Head of state refer to that time as a period when corruption was abated and discipline was the hallmark of the day? How come, despite the austerity measure and low oil prices during that period, the country was still able to stand tall and pay her debts and pay salaries? Was it not becos IBB whom your GEJ now calls his leader was involved in corrupt things (like drug smuggling) and was going to be arrested that he, IBB, overthrew him?
Like some people have rightly said, you PDP supporters lack knowledge, you do not read nor study that is why you all make brash statements and label people wrongly.
On Osibajo, you forget that as Atorney General of Lagos state, he spearheaded the fight against OBJ's unjust withholding of Lagos funds and was in the team which started Lagos IGR project that has now made Lagos so rich that other states are copying the model.
You guys should better wake up and lets put all sentiments aside, your GEJ does not have what it takes to lead this nation. INEC has published names of Presidential aspirants so they can think and withdraw; there is still time for you PDP people to put in a better candidate becos this your GEJ is bad market. Me I don talk my own
Thumb up
DeleteRight thinking and good analogy.... GMB for life and no to corrupt politicians ever again in Nigeria..........
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 8:48am. You are full of sentiment. Your statement doesn't make sense. I can see you were born to suffer and struggle without yielding what you worked for. Vote PDP and you will regret it.
