CONFIRMED: APC Presidential Candidate, Muhammadu Buhari Picks Professor Yemi Osinbajo As Running Mate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has chosen Professor Yemi Osinbajo as his running mate in the 2015 presidential election scheduled for February 14, 2015.

It can be recalled that NigerianEye reported on Monday that Professor Yemi Osinbajo was picked as Buhari's vice presidential candidate, but however the leadership of the party is yet to make an official announcement, but trusted sources this morning confirmed to NigerianEye that Professor Yemi Osinbajo has been picked as Muhammadu Buhari's running mate, and an official announcemnet will be made soon.

NigerianEye learnt that Osibajo sealed the ticket last night after party bigwigs weighed the various options for the pairing and ruled out a muslim-muslim combination.

This shut the door against a possible pairing of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu with Buhari but opened the door to having Osibajo, Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers and Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo among others.

Sources said that because of the way the nation has been polarised by President Goodluck Jonathan administration, on religious and ethnic lines, the APC swayed by the argument that only a religiously sensitive presidential pairing will be a winner in the 14 February 2015 election.

Osibajo, a law professor and former Attorney-General of Lagos state is a christian and senior pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Yemi Osibajo, 55, is the senior partner at SimmonsCooper Partners. He was for eight years, the attorney-general of Lagos State, during which wide-ranging reforms were carried out in the judiciary. The Lagos template became a reference point for the entire nation.

Osibajo is also a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN). He was educated at Igbobi College in Lagos, the University of Lagos, Nigeria (LLB, 1978) and the London School of Economics (LLM, 1980). He was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1979.

He has authored several books on civil procedure in Nigerian superior courts, rules of evidence and justice reform.

Do you think Osibajo will have more political advantage to Buhari than Fashola, Amaechi, Oshiomhole, Fayemi, and others?
Be the judge, and please remember, keep the comments clean, Thanks...

  3. Tinubu is really a mathematician and a very good politician. He already knows Osibanjo will be presented but tries to use himself to divert the attention of people and his fellow politicicans from it for those that may want to challenge the political status of Osibanjo. For me APC has all it takes to defeat GEJ because Buhari alone sef without a VP is better than GEJ with all his corrupt advisers

  7. Every sensible Nigerian know this is a better combination of people to lead this country. Two proven men of integrity. Both have a track record of changing the cause of a failing nation, ministry or state. Both have been involved in fighting injustice and institutionalized corruption and have won to some extent.
Better option than pple who keep give excuses for failure, who can't fight injustice or corruption which have now bedeviled this country, who only promise but have never deliver nor have they delivered.

  13. El-Matosky, mind you that God's help comes through somebody He sends. At the same time for God to rule us in this country, it will through someone. I think this choice I known by God. They're going to revive and deliver us from those deceiving us. GOOD CHOICE.

  14. It is a pitty that many people are brainwashed to believe old African dictum that incumbent does not loose election he has interest. My people time has changed and we should change by electing good government. Let's do away with sentiment, age, tribe, religion does not matter. These are irrelevant issues our leaders employ to divide us so as to remain in power. Good governance is good and we have the right to enjoy it. A government that gives excuses for failure should not be trusted for another four years.
