Buhari, Sanusi visit blast victims

A former Head of State, who is also a presidential aspirant of the opposition All Peoples Congress, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has condoled with the people of Kano over the bombing of the Kano Central Mosque.

Buhari also visited injured victims of the blast who have been receiving treatment at the Murtala Muhammed Hospital.

He was accompanied by the Kano deputy governor, Dr. Abdullah Ganduje, and the state House of Assembly’s Minoity Whip, Kawu Sumaila.

The ex-military ruler described the attack on the Kano mosque as “extremely disgusting and heart wrenching.”

“I think there is nothing we can do than to be vigilant wherever are,” Buhari advised and urged the people to be watchful, especially at all mosques, churches, schools, motor parks, and other places where people gathered for legitimate interactions.

Also, the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, who arrived at the hospital shortly after Buhari left, went round the beds of the blast victims to sympathise with them.

Sanusi pledged the sum of N20m worth of drugs for the victims and called on the people to continue to attend the mosque for their five daily and Jumaat prayers, urging them not to relent on prayers for the end to insurgency and lasting peace.

“I hope people will not stop going to mosques, markets and other places of legitimate interactions,” the emir said.

In a speech at his palace before visiting the hospital, Sanusi had implored the people to observe a three-day fasting for God’s intervention.

  4. Nigerians' be wise both Christians' and Muslims' don't allow any politicians to use any of you nor your relations for Sacrifice, don't waste your innocent blood for their selfish aims, run for your dear life first, don't listen to their advice because, their families are well protected., let not act in ignorance.

  5. A tree is judge by its fruits. A tree that bears good fruits will be valued and admired around the world. A tree that bears fruits that poison the mind and contaminate the earth is a bad tree even if it were planted by prophets. So it is not whether the Koran is a book of peace or not. It is how the religion is practiced. As of right now, of all the religions in the world, Islam is alone in its inhumane practices and it's inability to accept people of other faiths as their equal. If a religion is unable to serve the very humanity God created for this world, can it ever serve God's purposes?
