Auwal Jauta emerges Bauchi PDP guber candidate

Former Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly and member representing Zaki federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Honourable Auwal Jatua has won the People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket.

This is even as Governor Yuguda has clinched the ticket to contest the Senate race to represent Bauchi South in the National Assembly.

Auwal polled total votes of 368 to beat former deputy governor Senator Garba Gamawa representing Bauchi North who scored 116 votes and former minister of State for Health Professor Ali Pater who scored 86 and Senator Adamu Gumba representing Bauchi South who managed to get three votes respectively.

The four contestants walked out of the Multipurpose Hall venue of the primary election as soon as the Chairman of the committee that came to supervise the conduct of the exercise Senator Stella Omu announced the results.
"This is injustice and should not be allowed to stand. Delegates were not allowed to votes for their choice. We reject the outcome," Ali Pater who was visibly angry reacted.

The three other contestants including Governor Isa Yuguda who sat throughout the primary elections which was concluded at 6:30 am decline to speak to the press.
