Leave President Jonathan out of National Assembly crisis - PDP

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party has urged the All Progressive Congress and others to leave President Goodluck Jonathan out of the problems rocking the House of Representatives, stating that as elected representatives of the people, the President cannot be blamed for the APC woes.

APC had accused President Goodluck Jonathan of sabotaging his own Administration’s war against Boko Haram on the altar of personal vindictiveness and political desperation, an action that is unbecoming of a self-respecting national leader.

The party ‎ was reacting to a statement by the APC where it laid the blames of the crisis in the House of Representatives as desperation on the side of the President.

But the National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh said in interview with journalists in Abuja on Thursday, “Every Nigerian knows clearly that PDP as a political party does not remote control it’s members. We don’t believe in interfering in the affairs of the National Assembly as a parliament, let alone the House of Representatives.

“PDP believe that as elected adults, they are responsible for their actions and it would be unfair to lay such blames on the President. The members are capable of taking decisions as adults.

“We are operating a democracy and there are three arms of government and National Assembly and indeed the House of Representatives is part of the legislative arm of ‎ government.

“There are crises in other states and the President cannot be be blamed for such crisis.”

On the APC allegation that President was stalling the State of Emergency, Metuh said, ” You know that it is a baseless‎ allegation and not founded on any logic. Those who are playing politics with the insurgency know themselves, but certainly not this administration led by President Jonathan.”

  1. Who are my people you unpatriotic Nigerian. Where is decorum in jumping fence like common thieves. Where is morality in Tambuwal grandstanding as minority speaker of the house. Where is patriotism in their display. Could you spot any honour in the actions of our supposed honourable(s)?It is a shame to say the least.

GEJ should be left out the brigandage in the house. You must think again if you believe that PDP will sit back and watch minority APC produce the speaker. It will justify the nonsense happening in Ekiti. Tambuwal is very unpatriotic. He would have been my hero if he stepped down after deffecting rather than throw the house of assembly into this kind of pandemonium. I agree that the police did not do well but lawmakers should know better that two wrongs can never make one right. It is unfortunate,

    1. The directive was from the President. The police wouldnt have done what they did if the President did not direct them. A spafe should be called a spade.

  2. Who is GEJ and who is PDP? Anything done by PDP or security operatives is done by GEJ. They can't take action without first briefing him. The security operatives are the armed wing of PDP and PDP is the political wing of the Security forces. If PDP leaves today and another party comes to power, it will be thesame i guess. There is God o.
