Jonathan fails to make Accra trip

President Goodluck Jonathan was on Thursday unable to travel to Accra, Ghana as earlier scheduled.

He was earlier billed to join other leaders of the Economic Community of West African States in Accra for an emergency summit on the Ebola Virus Disease.

Jonathan however could not travel again due to prolonged mediation talks in Ouagadougou where he travelled to on Wednesday as a member of the three-man delegation of Heads of State and Government raised by the Economic Community of West African States to facilitate the rapid resolution of the current political crisis in Burkina Faso.

He did not return to the country until the early hours of Thursday.

Jonathan therefore directed Vice President Namadi Sambo to represent him at the Accra summit.

  1. Thats how it should be. Its only a fool that will be traveling up and down pretending to be bringing peace to other countries when his own house is on fire. Nigerian leaders unfortunately have this penchant of exporting what they dont have at home, sending peace keeping force to other countries when you dont have same at home, exporting electricity to Niger and other countries when we are in darkness at home, etc. He should stay home and show some leadership for once!
