An Overland Airlines plane from Abuja on Saturday with fifty nine passengers and four crew members escaped death by whiskers after it crash-landed and slipped off the runway in Ilorin, Kwara State.
A statement by the General Manager, Public Affairs, of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Fan Ndubuoke, on Saturday, said no life was lost in the incident, which he added, was already being investigated.
The statement read, “An Overland flight 1186, an ATR 72 aircraft with Registration number 5N-BPG from Abuja airport to Ilorin, carrying fifty nine passengers and four crew members,veered off the runway at low speed after a normal landing at the Ilorin Airport.
“The incident which occurred today Saturday, November 29, at 4.45pm, has no casualty recorded. However, the Accident and Prevention Bureau in conjunction with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has begun an investigation into the cause of the incident.
“The authority wishes to use this medium to reassure Nigerians that safety of the traveling public is still paramount and cannot be compromised.”
A source told one of our correspondents that three professors –a former Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Prof. Ishaq Oleyede, Prof. Lanre Badmus and one unnamed professor — were on board the flight.

Your interpretation of the source and meaning of the word Allah is correct, however that does not detract from the fundamental truth of what the poster at 1:55 has stated. A brief reading and basic understanding of the Koran leaves one in no doubt as to the psychotic nature of the teachings of Mohammed, from murder to child molestation. Even if you are ignorant which obviously is your case, and even if some evil people are using Islam to perpetrate their devilish acts which is regretable, it does not still give you gut to blaspheme against the Almighty God who created the heaven and earth and all that is between them including you. Everyday, there are millions of Arabic speaking Christians in various countries who use the name 'Allah' to pray to God and call on God. Go to any Arab Christian church; the Holy Bible in those churches are in Arabic and Allah is BOLDLY written in several places in it. Don't use any opportunity to attack another religion just because a few misguided people are using the name of Allah to perpetrate evil. Anybody can use any name as a cover to do evil. The latest bomb attack in Kano was targeted at Muslims and it was Muslims who died enmasse at a Jumat prayer in Kano. BH is a menace to EVERYBODY. BH attacks is NOT a Muslim vs Xtian phenomenon. Let us unite against BH. BH is an outlawed sect and is an enemy to all of us. So, for this fortunate incident, all praise go to Allah, the Creator, the supreme God, for sparing the lives of the passengers. As for those who are using the name of God (Allah) to do evil; they are on their own, and God DOES NOT need anybody to fight for Him. He is all-powerful and can fight His own battles. We will all live to see the end of BH, by God's grace.
