The rally shall be attended by various stakeholders, youth & women groups across the Niger Delta region, Governors of the Niger-Delta states, Actors Guild of Nigeria, Association of Beauty Pageants Organizers of Nigeria and All Nigerian Beauty Queens.

The former militants under the aegis of Ex-Agitators in the Niger-Delta Struggle & First Phase Generals in the Presidential Amnesty Program, premised their action on the Jonathan’s transformation agenda and improvements in the electoral system.

The event being organized by Leadership, Peace & Cultural Development Initiative, a Non-profit organization, has been scheduled to take place in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital under the chairmanship of Dokubo-Asari.

A statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by the National President of LPCDI, Ex-Gen. (Pastor) Reuben Wilson, said Kuku whom is also Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta would be a Special Guest of honour, and will deliver a keynote address.

The Rally is scheduled to start at 9:00 am, at Ibom Hall Field, IBB Way, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Wilson, a Pastor and former militant said, “It is designed to massively mobilize Niger Deltans in particular and Nigerians in general to support the second term bid of President Goodluck Jonathan, come 2015 Presidential election. Jonathan has done creditably well and deserves a second term to consolidate the gains of the transformation programme.

“We as Niger Deltans are very proud of Mr. President because it is the first time that a Niger Deltan is ruling this country as President and he is marvelously doing well. The country is experiencing an uncommon National Transformation for the first time in its entire existence.

“The dividends of the National Transformation programme of Mr. President are eloquently evident for all to see. Hitherto moribund sectors such as the Nigerian Railway, Agriculture, Small Scale Industries, etc are all transformed and made productive by the Jonathan administration.

“The epileptic power situation that preceded the emergence of President Jonathan has also been greatly improved upon by His administration. For the first time in the history of this country, power has been made to be considerably stable.”

According to him, Jonathan has also transformed the electoral system and has made sure that “the votes of Nigerians now count.”

He said, “Jonathan is systematically fighting corruption headlong. The hitherto witch-hunting of politcal opponents with anti-corruption agencies has been stopped and instead it is the loopholes and sources that breed corruption that are drastically being tackled with tact and experience.”

The militants also acknowledged the “eminent achievements of the Presidential Amnesty Program” under President Jonathan piloted by Hon.Kingsley Kuku, who has taken the programme to greater heights.

  2. Almost every Nigerian would disagree that Jonathan is systematically fighting corruption. As a matter of fact, he is a very corrupt man and that puts him in a very weak position to fight corruption.
