Some people have ganged up to bring Super Eagles down - Keshi

Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi, has alleged there is a gang-up against him not to succeed as Nigeria face elimination from next year’s African Nations Cup in Morocco.

Nigeria currently lies bottom of Group A with a single point after three rounds of matches in the qualifying tournament for Morocco 2015, africanFootball.com reports.

The African champions must now win the remaining three matches and hope other results in the group were favourable in order qualify for the championship.

“There is a sabotage by some people, who I won’t mention their names but who know themselves. They want to run this team down,” africanFootball.com quoted Keshi as saying on Monday.

“Some people are ready to sell this country for a dime. They want to sabotage the Super Eagles.
“It’s a shame. They don’t want this team to get to the AFCON, they want this team to lose outright. But they are not God.

“And this is not Keshi’s team. This is a national team. Keshi is a professional coach and after this (assignment), he will get another job elsewhere.”

Nigeria hosts Sudan in a reverse fixture on Wednesday in Abuja.

  1. Mr. Keshi, be man enough to take responsibility for your action. These people you are blaming for your failure were not the ones who selected players for you. The were not the ones who intructed the player on the field. Dont pass tje blame on anyone. You selected the players that you liked and left better and more resoursful players outof the team.

  3. Mumu.na some people make you take Shola Ameobi,Azeez,Agbim,Babatunde to world.Na some people make you dey field Mikel even when it is clear he is no where good enough for that revered. number 10 position. Na some people make you leave out Ike Uche and other better players. Osaze did not play to your instructions in the last world cup and now your players are playing to your instructions. Keshi lacks the technical and tactical capability and it is clear that the AFCON victory was a fluke. Please, sack this man for us before he brings more shame and embarrassment to the Country after all Super Eagles no be him papa property a beg. Things must be done differently and fast too.

  8. Am I surprised? It is the typical denial mentality that has bedevilled the Nigerian state. When things go awry because we didn't do what we should have done then it is someone else's fault or machinations. Keshi should not rub salt to our injury please.
