Poor pitches responsible for Eagles poor run - FIFA expert

A FIFA licensed stadium facility expert, Ebi Egbe has faulted Stephen Keshi’s decision to use his army of Euro-based professionals to prosecute last weekend’s game against Sudan in Khartoum.

Egbe said the Eagles would have gotten a result both in Calabar in the game against Congo and the Khartoum outing if Keshi had fallen back on the home-based players who are used to the poor pitches in Calabar and Khartoum.

In Egbe’s words: “I think the pitch in Calabar and that of Sudan contributed a lot to our poor run.
You can clearly see that the Eagles were a lot better in Cape Town against South Africa because the pitch there was good.

Our boys play on good turfs out there in Europe, so coming home to play in that kind of rugged Khartoum pitch wont be an easy task.

I think what Keshi should have done was to use some home- based players who are used to that kind of terrain.”

The London based soccer buff expressed confidence that Keshi and his boys will bounce back to pick a Nations Cup ticket, insisting that it is not all over yet for the Eagles.

  1. This people are adding insult to injury.FIFA expert ko! FIFA expert ni! Just imagine! This is the sort of person giving Keshi expert advice a bi! Poor pitch responsible for their below average performance in Brazil 2014, their defeat by Congo in Calabar, their woeful display against South Africa, their lack of technical and tactical depth in all the matches. Are you telling us that the pitches in Calabar,Brazil and South Africa were below standard. These pitches were approved by FIFA and CAF. Some people are insulting Nigerians sensibilities and intelligence by their utterances.By now some people should have been sacked and others queried. If Keshi is a gentleman that know shame he should honorably throw in the towel and resign instead of all these hollow excuses, blame games and campaigns by his cohorts.
